Joe Rogan and Spotify

Is it ok if it's in print form? A reputable medical journal isn't 'on the internet somewhere'....

I don't read journals to decide what medicines to take. I have looked up studies on medications I've taken out of curiosity though, especially when I took a course of medication that didn't appear to do anything....

If somebody wants to read a medical journal out of interest, or to get more information for their own knowledge - no sane person would have a problem with that. However, when it comes to actually making decisions about whether you should take X or Y medicine, or procedure, based on that journal and you have no medical training or knowledge, that's where problems begin.

rogan racist comment for those that hadn't seen it (obviously ignore the noah guy)

I watched it and I still didn't see the racist comment, could you point it out?

You've now turned the argument into one where you're actually giving yourself drugs based on reading some medical journal lol

The mask issue. The most odd thing I saw was the lead medical doctor in the US, in uniform, showing people how to make a cloth mask. A cloth mask as been repeatedly shown to be useless, yet there are still people wearing them and still shops selling them. Why aren't these people called out? Shops should be banned from selling them in my opinion.

I vaguely recall the whole ‘make your own mask’ bits on the news, people folding t-shirts up etc… I think it was more in response to people buying up all the masks, leaving very little out there for everyone else; bit like bog rolls :D So they had to been seen to offer some suggestion, and as useless as a cloth mask might be, it was at least giving people something; sure that may have been a false sense of security, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Doctor you allude to, was probably told to do it, against his/her judgement.

As for the ongoing sale of sub-standard masks, well, I have no answers for that really – I wouldn’t be surprised if a friend of a friend, or relative twice removed, of someone in Government sells them – so we can’t go sacking off their sale, for fear of them losing out :P

As for masks – it’s quite a funny thing I’ve noticed since they were widely adopted: no colds! None of my family, friends or work colleagues have suffered from a common cold since masks were mandated, so they clearly do something. It always sends my anti-vax/mask Trump loving boss into a frenzy when it is pointed out to him.

@Screeeech I'm curious do you apply this philosphy to other aspects of your life that you do not have a degree in. Do you just go to an "expert" and nod your head in agreement with anything they say?
Let's think:

  • Dentist - yes
  • Automotive Mechanic - yes
  • Black Cab Driver - yes
  • Building Architect - yes
  • Lawyer/Solicitor - yes
  • Heating System - yes
  • in a corporate setting Other Business Functions - yes

What was the point you were making?

I didn't realise your name is also Screeech.

I wasn't making a point i was asking a question hence the question mark. But now I know why headlight fluid is a thing.

Edit: Shout out to all the people who got told by the doctor they are fine and but actually they weren't

:cry::cry::cry:

Right, and I also know why people think their IP address is 127.0.0.1 and other idiots think the oldest cell in their body is 7 years.

Ever asked a different expert for a second opinion? I have, because experts are still humans.

This is why free speech and hearing different opinions are important. We can't just have the government deciding what are facts and what is misinformation. They have been wrong regularly throughout the past two years. We need more conversations with people of different opinions.

This government can't be trusted. We elected a pathological liar, why would anyone believe him? We should trust the science and the science shouldn't be controlled by politicians. Yes they will make mistakes, some of those have been because they had politicians breathing down their necks.

I'm all for hearing different opinions but from people who are trustworthy and by people who can challenge them. Rogan didn't challenge Robert Malone, even in his non-apology apology he bigged him up as a trusted source, didn't challenge him on any of the criticisms from his peers and why didn't he pull him up on him claiming he invented mRNA when he didn't. It was an easy hit but he gave him a pass. These aren't normal times, this pandemic could have been better if the population wasn't constantly fighting a significant minority. They've been a wet dream for covid and its spread.

Why ask for a second opinion if the first comes from an "expert"? Are you suggesting that experts are not always correct?
because experts are still humans.

Sometimes you want points you are putting across to be clearly considered because you think they'll change things. If you don't think expert 1 heard that, you are often inclined to go to expert 2 for discussion hoping a different outcome or at least more robust acknowledgement of your input.

why didn't he pull him up on him claiming he invented mRNA when he didn't.
So what was his contribution to the mRNA Vaccine if he had one? who "invented" it or whose work was it heavily based on?

If it was a group effort (i think i saw this mentioned) Who are the people invovled in the mRNA vaccine and what were their contributions?

Also who are the people who said he didn't invent it and what are their arguments?

And sometimes experts disagree.
