So not wanting your kids to see nudity in school is censorship? oK bRo

Its a mouse. Are they banning the bible? There is nudity in the bible. There is genocide in the bible. In fact there is no end of heinous **** in the bible. There is nudity in Christian religious iconography. You are really supporting this? Its clearly the religious nuts of the right wing of the GOP gone mad.

I'm saying I understand why religious people might not want it in schools, of course I don't give a ****. You know how Muslims didn't want their prophet depicting in school? I get that too. Are religious people not allowed opinions on what their children should see in schools? They don't have a choice on them going to school, but you also now want them to allow their kids to be exposed to material they don't like. It doesn't matter that we may find it ridiculous, it's their opinion.

Never apologise ...
share holders have spoken the ultimate arbitrators.

But the public expects platforms to publicly justify why they are making particular decisions regarding the material they decide to distribute. An ad hoc approach to content-related controversies is no longer tenable for Facebook or Twitter, both of which have done an enormous amount to invest in greater process for considering content-related questions. Sooner or later Spotify, and all other major platforms, will have to follow suit.

Lost the argument so he's trolling. I know this isn't speakers corner but surely this is just spam?
There is a Simpsons episode on right now about Mrs Lovejoy trying to censor Michelangelo's David; maybe you could learn a thing or two?

Were you in uproar about Muslims wanting to ban the depiction of their prophet in schools or is it just white conservative Christians you feel comfortable attacking?

Looks like people have been doing a lot of digging on his early years where he seemingly didn't care about being racist, there's a compilation of him saying the word white people are forbidden from saying beginning with N as well that's doing the rounds

For some balance Joe also had this guest on last year, a man who convinced members of the KKK to leave the klan, quite a touching story. I guess it's irrelevant in the face of a 20 year old joke or Joe using the N word without any context though. Weird how these clips aren't being dug up considering how numerous they are.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CZlnH8MAb8L/ - hes just addressed this. Quite well I might add.

This purity testing of people, especially people who have spoken for 3000 + hours un-scripted on all sorts of controversial topics, is really stupid.

To be honest I get what he's saying regards his use of the N word, I wish it was allowed to be said in context without using it to degrade somebody and I get when Joe said it, he was (mostly) paraphrasing ie Someone said N, he wasn't directly saying it himself in a derogatory way and I believe that's fine, no issue with that, if you're quoting what somebody said or just saying the word in isolation without reference to a person or group, we're all adults, we're not 5 year olds it shouldn't be a "naughty" word we can't say at all, it feels really childish we've been conditioned to say "N word" instead of the actual word.

But that whole being surrounded by black people, calling it a literal planet of the apes, that's just racist no matter how you want to dress it

He immediately pointed that out, was stoned out of his mind whilst talking, and clearly meant in terms of it was like being on a different planet rather than the black people were the apes, but yea, that’s a royal **** up.

Ah well they hooked him now. Caught on the N word, a tried and tested bait.
He wont be on Spotify by the end of the month.
Doesn't matter on context or anything, N word is excommunication from social media when used by a person of lower melanin status.

As far as I'm aware he hasn't used the term directly, only in quoting other people.

The word is a part of the world, part of society, many people use it to bond, it's not the word it's the intention behind it.

It just seems strange that this word is unutterable for some based on your skin colour. Obviously I understand the history behind it but the only way we start getting past issues is to stop making them issues.

Btw, something I found out the other day, during the peak slave 'ownership' period, it was only 1.6% of americans who had slaves and here we are all these years later, where it's universally understood how wrong that was and the terrible things those people endured, the battles they had to fight but it wasn't us, the population now, it was a time in history to learn from.

Seems like racism was less of an issue in the 90s and has been weaponised for some time now.

I used to like India Ire but I don't agree with these low tactics.

Maybe Spotify will cancel JR, he's got enough of an audience to create his own platform, he doesn't need the money.

Shame on JR for allowing open discussion about many topics and simply asking questions of people.

I guess history is easy to forget if it didn't impact you.

Do you think there's been a shift in the last few years?

To me it feels like we'd reached a point where it was generally understood that racism was bad and racists at least knew they were in the wrong. That equation has changed, the racists have somehow become empowered and are more vehement in their views.

Plus there's constant signposting by the media, 'don't forget about racism', 'hey guys, racism is still a thing', 'racism everyone'

Then we get things like diversity quotas and representation, new buzz words that keep shining a light on the issue. For me racism wasn't an issue when I was growing up, Bristol is pretty multicultural and it just wasn't 'a thing'. I'd go to all kinds of events with a wide range of ethnicities and never thought twice about it. It just was what it was.

Feels like we get manipulated to make things a bigger issue than they should be. We're taking steps back here, not moving forward.

I wouldn't allow them to dictate what is allowed in schools, I wouldn't allow any religious group to dictate that. I would ban faith schools as well, they are a terrible idea. Religion should be taught at home or at their place of worship, it has no place in schools.
