Join Cycling

How do you do this?

Well, I used it on Zwift and something positive, I like that cadence is used. I might be wrong, but I don't think TR bothered much with cadence aside some specific sessions. (Maybe it was just the Join session I did this evening though, I guess)

I notice you can follow others, or create groups. What does that then show/allow? Do you see what sessions others have done perhaps?

**EDIT** I've now also set the available time to suit what I actually want to do. I think they should call it something like 'target' more than 'availability'. I'd kind of filled it out like 'well, I can do any evening' when it really wants to know how much I want to do each day, right?
Basically. I’m flaky as it gets with indoor cycling so I usually just dump “45” mins on the day I can jump on and leave the rest of the week with nothing set. My view is that if I set x days I’m then telling it that I’m committing to those days and will workout and I believe it tries to then adjust my workouts depending on the days I’ve set..

Go to the Home screen and right next to "Ready to Train" is an edit button. I lowered my recovery level today but it didn't seem to do anything. Haven't tried the soreness level yet.

My training hours during the week are very static - I train early mornings so I set it to the length of time I want to train then add 15 mins or so if I have time for a bit more.
 
Yeah its availability days and duration, rather than time.

Im still on the trial and getting to grips with it, have moved things around a lot this week. Had planned a mega outdoor ride last weekend but canned that due to the bushfires. First race of WTRL tonight, moved my fast group ride from Wednesday to Thursday due to needing a brake bleed today, and switched the big climbing ride to this saturday coming and it has shuffled things around a bit. Will see how I feel after Saturday.

Did the 10 x 2 power intervals last night. Wasnt quite fuelled and prepared for 2 x 10 mins at 280w with a 60rpm cadence. Bailed out of the second set halfway through :eek:
 
I really hate those low cadence exercises my puny legs feel the burn so quickly!

Join told me to have a rest day yesterday, which I scoffed at because I clearly know better. Did a Zwift prescribed session instead and turns out Join was probably correct as even though I went to bed really early last night Bevel has my recovery score and HRV both in the bin! So nothing more for me to do today. Annoyed as wanted to try and tick off another route from TDZ but I do feel more more tired than usual today - turns out I do not know better... :cry:

Unrelated but the workout I did on Zwift yesterday had a few 10 second intervals at 550w but my trainer wasn't able to respond fast enough in ERG for me to get the complete star so I tried that portion of the workout not in ERG mode. Much better for really short high intervals but made me realise how hard it is to stick to the recovery parts.

yup I tried that on Rouvy yesterday... 110w to 260+(as high as you can for 6s) and I found that the trainer just about gets to 260w in the first 5 seconds. With ERG off - like rouvy recommended, I couldn't slow down fast enough for the 110w one etc so it just didn't work well. I left in ERG at the end and accepted that it is 260wish because it won't get to that in the super short 6s window.

I used to have that a lot in SYSTM. I don't think I've noticed it as much recently. I used to use it to my advantage, if I had a minute of high Watts, I would spin really fast a second before the effort was due, and that seemed to cause the delay in resistance. Try to make sure you don't start too soon... even slow a little as the big effort starts and see if that helps.

**EDIT** Just because I want to see what it's for (I'm thinking I might make a review of Join.cc so want to know how it all works) I made an OCUK group. I had to set a location and an image... so it's London and just me taking a photo of the forum logo :cry: See if you can search it.

Fab, you can see my weak legs so it's another leader board for me to be at the bottom of! :p But it'll keep me honest so there is that!

I've realised I've probably done things the wrong way around. I told Join I wanted to get better at long climbs, so it's been focussing on that. I think in hindsight I should've started on 'FTP Builder' and then do the long climbs as my speciality phase like in TR. Ah well, 20 days left of 'long climbs' and then I'll go back and do the 3 months of FTP building.

I like it, comparing training time, for example, could be a good motivator for some.
 
I don't like seeing my measly FTP compared to you guys, if I am honest. Had we done this, this time last year, I'd have been more respectful :D :(

don't worry, I just took the crown for the lowest FTP.. it would be a bit higher but I've not done enough in join.cc and trial is expiring soon :/
