ill be climbing under the axles(cape fear style) to get closer to the chips

Forget that lets hope they are delivered by securitas and then we should get them before they hit the shops. ;)

Intel still plan to have their EE edition Conroe as a launch part. 3.33Ghz on a 1333FSB! UK price should be in the £680-720 range.

This should be the daddy until next year so future proof for @ least 9-12 months.

Has this cpu been confirmed for launch

Looking forward to conroe! :D

Going to change from a 2.2 ghz p4 (non-HT) to a mid-range conroe when they come out. I`m going to wait a few days to find a decent MB/RAM combo (for stability and OC) then im going to order my new PC.

Think the E6600 was what i`m hoping to get, but obviously it will depend on the price.

Taken from another thread.

Core Extreme Edition Series - 1333MHz FSB, EM64T, EIST, VT, SSE4
Core Extreme Edition - 3.33GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 95W - $999 - Q3

Core E6000 Series - 1066MHz FSB, EM64T, EIST, VT, SSE4
Core E6800 - 2.93GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - $720 - Q4
Core E6700 - 2.67GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - $529 - Q3
Core E6600 - 2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - $315 - Q3
Core E6400 - 2.13GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 2MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - $240 - Q3
Core E6300 - 1.86GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 2MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - $210 - Q3

Core E4000 Series - 800MHz FSB, EM64T, EIST, SSE4
Core E4200 - 1.6GHz, 800MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 2MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 45W - $___ - Q3

The prices are usually converted as if they were euros. So its probably something like this.

Core EE - 3.33GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 95W - £681 - Q3
Core E6800 - 2.93GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - £490 - Q4
Core E6700 - 2.67GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - £360 - Q3
Core E6600 - 2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 4MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - £214 - Q3
Core E6400 - 2.13GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 2MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - £163 - Q3
Core E6300 - 1.86GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 32+32KB L1, 2MB L2, Dual Core, TDP 65W - £143 - Q3

I can really see myself being greedy and going for the e6700 like im sure a few people will do. We'll have to see what happens with the clocks

What's different about the EE apart from it having the higher FSB and TDP 95w compared to 65w like the others?

It's had a Vcore bump? If so I guess it's possible Intel have excellent yields with Conroe meaning they probably will overclock amazingly well even at the bottom end of the price range. :)

They're just the highest bin, and will probably overclock the most, and if it carries on the xe tradition it will have an unlocked multiplier - great for overcoming any FSB limit. I don't think they will use a higher voltage than the other conroes, its just the higher clocks and the room they factor in for overclocking that gives it a higher TDP.
