Jumping on the bandwagon (Nirvana baby sues Nirvana)

It's a pathetic cash-grab. He's admitted in the past that being the Nirvana baby opened doors to him.

He's going to lose, then get counter sued for libel / slander for insinuating that Nirvana / the record labels are pedos.

What I found interesting is that he has helped stage the 10th, 20th, and 25th anniversaries photos so clearly he hasn't that much of a problem with the notoriety.

I came here knowing there'd be a thread on this. Couldn't believe it when I read it on BBC News (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-58327844).

As Blackvault says the fact that he's re-created the photo as an adult isn't the sign of someone who has hated the photo and I can see Nirvana's legal team pointing this out to a judge should it get that far. Perhaps he's hoping that Nirvana will settle with him out of court so it doesn't go to court where surely the case will get dismissed?

They'll never settle - as this would confirm that they sexually exploited a child, which is the basis of his claim.

surely if he has issue with this it should be with his parents?

i get that as he's gotten older he might not be as happy with the fact his nekkid baby pic is out there for the world to see as he was when he was younger. i get that he's probably peed of the album made millions and he got a teddy out of it. but ultimately it was his parents gave the ok for the pic to be taken therefore should his issue not be with them unless he is trying to claim that his parents were somehow duped?

It's not child pornography. A photo of a naked baby is not child porn.
His lawyer is claiming that the addition of the dollar bill implies connotations of being a sex worker.

"However, Elden's lawyer, Robert Y. Lewis, argues that the inclusion of the dollar bill (which was superimposed after the photograph was taken) makes the minor seem "like a sex worker".

I have to say, I heard that album when it came out and listened to Nirvana avidly throughout the '90s as a teen, and that never crossed my mind.

Indeed, if he hadn't been involved in later photo shoots no one would have a clue it was him.

Exactly. Nirvana's lawyers would refuse to sanction an out of court settlement as even with a "no admission of fault" statement the general public would interpret such a settlement/statement out of court as being effectively acknowledgement that the band are/were guilty of the accusation. I wonder if perhaps the lawyer for Elden thinks he can get some money/reputation out of this at his client's expense?

Indeed, if he hadn't been involved in later photo shoots no one would have a clue it was him.
I compared the original album photo with the one of Elden re-creating it and it's impossible to know they are the same person almost 30 years apart. If he hadn't re-created the photo as an adult, you're right, no-one would know who he was.

From your lips to God’s ears hopefully.

What gets me about this case is that there are more important issues going on, such as the refugees in Afghanistan who are trying to flee the Taliban.

But no, the refugees aren't important enough for me, are they? Instead, let's take the band members (dead or alive) to the cleaners for $150,000 each for some album art that came out 27 years ago. Because that's swell dude.

I hope he gets rinsed and get put onto the sex offender's registry, simply for thinking that the Nirvana album art is child pr0n. He needs to be made an example of.

I don’t agree with it, but I don’t know what Afghanistan has got to do with it
