Jurassic World Evolution - Park Building #Thread#

Really liking this so far. Only played a couple of hours this afternoon before my night shift. Have unlocked the 2nd island. I take it you can go back to the first island whenever you like can you? I haven't touched the 2nd island yet.

You can go back and forth whenever you like. I been playing as much as I can since unlock this morning lol - I'm addicted!

I'm wondering if people will still be addicted today or tomorrow.

from the reddit posts seems theres not much management or simulation going on.
the dinosaurs have a severely limited set of actions and seem repetitive fast.

theres no feathers

I have seen a few reviews and one said, can't remember which, they have removed things like toilets so you don't have to deal with them, that's part of a park sim, it does sound like a keep your dinosaurs happy sim. Hopefully the management will be fleshed out like what they did with planet coaster.

They never fleshed out planet coaster management. It is so shallow and I have revisited it every 3 months to nothing worth playing and super shallow. This seems even more so. They make pretty games that are honestly for me and what a sim management game pretty boring. The gameplay that has been added here is shallow like the colour of the dino. Where are;
  • Dealing with different types of guests and satisfying their need for different groups by creating different dino attractions
  • The toilets, stalls and similar that have any depth and requirement to actually plan a detailed park and make it work with flow of traffic etc
  • The dinos having distinct personalities and able to flock/group together for both safety and hunting (depending on dino)
  • The ability to create more dramatic scenery with different biomes to suit the dinos.
There is just a real lack of attention to the gameplay, just like PC and ED tbh.

So they didn't learn anything from Planet Coaster :(

I've read you can't even unlock sandbox mode without completing the campaign first which sounds utterly stupid
People were talking about how the animals graze but don't actually get any food from it so they rely on feeders, the carnivores just kill everything in sight randomly so you could never try to have a wild park that feeds itself.
each dinosaur apparently only has one fight animation so every fight is the same, animals don't heard together.

from what I'm reading the old JPOG game that this is basically a clone of had all of that

seems there is no simulation happening with the park visitors they are basically just a visual only thing and they don't matter.

people were trying to claim it would be impossible to have each guy in the park be like an AI but other games have done it in the past, each person had their own needs in RCT2? even some city builders had it, people had their own places to live, their own routes to work, to the shops etc basically budgeted off of what their wage was to determine where they would live and shop.
yet people claim its impossible to do it in this game because you would need a super computer to have some form of basic AI going on.

basically they could have had the same game with worse graphics and released it for 20-25 quid.
they probably rushed it out to coincide with the JP movie, seems its all fluff with not much content and barely anything going on under the hood.

theres never going to be modding so the community can't try to build on what already exists.

just another game putting graphics over game play.

maybe ill buy it in a steam sale when its £20

Wrong. I unlocked the Sandbox island after getting 5 stars on the 1st Island. I'm going through all of the others first though, currently on the 2nd Island and it's getting tough!
