Jurassic World

  • Because raptors are completely different to gorillas. Whilst gorillas can sometimes be aggressive, you can get pretty close to them in the wild, they generally sit on their asses eating leaves. Raptors are predators, gorillas aren't.
  • Yes it is a hook, but that doesn't make it a good film.
  • Maybe I would find it "awesome", but that's not the type of thing you put in a movie. Wasn't the crowds reaction enough? Does a character really need to point out the obvious?
  • Cliche. I bet the military method doesn't work, and Pratt's horse whispering raptors save the day, even more cliche.

The writing just seems lazy; over the top antics and ludicrous plots.

  • Yes they are, lions and tigers are also predators but if handled from birth by humans and raised around them or by them you can be around them if you respect the fact that they could take you out at any moment if they wanted to
  • No it doesn't but as I said it is a theme already explored in the films, also in the first book Dr Wu went to Hammond with plans to make the dinosaurs 'better than life' by engineering them in such a way so that they would fit better in a park setting like making them easier to see, making them slower, adjusting their behavior. The main point of the book as I already said is mans hubris, using technologies that others pioneered without the respect for it, hell they didn't even know what they were growing to begin with, they just implanted the DNA into artificial eggs and just grew it, if something was wrong they messed with the DNA and slapped a different version number on it and treated them like software revisions instead of living, breathing animals
  • He is a kid, why would him saying "that was awesome" make it a bad film, it just makes it a bad line in the script
  • What is cliche about it? You are just throwing words around to fit your opinion. What do you expect them to do, dance around a camp fire and pray to the gods that the dinosaurs walk back into their paddocks? No they use teams trained with military tactics to bring down killing machines. You keep using the word cliche, I don't think you know what it means. The raptors won't save the day, it is clear from the trailer that they go rogue and join the raptors from the first film who were living in the restricted zone.

What's wrong with over the top antics, not every film needs to be deep. How about you wait and see what the films going to be like instead of writing it off after a bad trailer.

Well that negates the point of a trailer, it's there to entice me to watch the film.

Why don't I wait? I am... but until then all I have to go on are 2 bad trailers, and since you asked why they are bad, I gave you the answers.

I do want to see this although it looks bad

It's deep blue sea with dinosaurs. But I actually liked deep blue sea. It wasn't to big or hyped up.

This seems like a big recycle. Literally looks like half scenes from the original (kids in cars etc) just reskined (bubble cars)

And I still can't stop thinking.. How difficult can it be to gun down a huge animal.? It's not bullet proof and it's not exactly discrete and only one of them

The guy with the raptors looks tedious

Will watch
Will be disappointed

It's like alien vs predator.. So much potential.. So much waste

Only two films grabbed my interest this year. This and age of ultron
I'll try and keep an open mind however

I have fond memories of being in the cinema with JP @ 12 years old, and I obviously am not the target audience for this. As film viewers grow older, sadly the series of film do not grow older with them. They get aimed at the same people who watched the orginals "children".
The trailer makes this look rubbish cause to me it is, it's all action no substance with a ridiculous baddy dinosaur as the villian and a comical action hero. Excatly what kids want.
It will do well even though most will hate it but they will take their tweenagers etc and it will make money, following this if your a hater you will not be able to comment badly of this film because your aguments on it's obvious flaws with be rebutted with " look how much money it made".

It's a shame but it's true.

They have already given away too much in the trailers. The best thing about the original JP was that it actually provoked some suspense.

I'm managing expectations (setting them very low, as I do with most blockbuster films now).

Wonder if they'll use the giant mosasaurus to kill the hybrid? Looks giant in comparison going by the trailers.

You cared about the characters and shared their sense of wonder/awe as well.

Having just seen the first trailer for this in full screen IMAX 3D when I went to see Ultron.. I can say.. I'm very excited about this.. regardless of a possibly bad story.. I just want to witness it all lol

The T-Rex attacking the Jeeps in JP is quite possibly my favorite sequence in movie history. CGI/models/sound FX/brilliant directing all make it unforgettable. If JW can capture an ounce of that feeling I'm in....but it's a big ask.

Whats the best IMAX in London to go see this at?

JUst asking as I've never been to an IMAX but this film feels epic enough to spend the cash doing so.

I watched The Fugitive the other night, and during the train sequence I was thinking that mid-90s was a really great time for films in terms of striking a great blend between practical effects and cgi. After that there has been a huge decline in practical effects and an over reliance on cgi which just doesn't look as good. Maybe we'll get there, but we're not there yet.

Current state of CGI, I think we can put it to rest now the silly notion that JP CGI is better than JW, they almost look animatronic.
