Jurassic World

I'm not going to link to it because of the swearies, but there's a very good article on cracked.com called "6 Reasons Modern Movie CGI Looks Surprisingly Crappy", Jurassic Park vs Jurassic World is one of the comparisons made. Worth a read.

Looking forward to it, but I think I'll treat it as a completely different film to the other three. It just doesn't feel like JP to me. Seems a bit of a joke compared to the seriousness of the others, especially the first.

Having just seen the first trailer for this in full screen IMAX 3D when I went to see Ultron.. I can say.. I'm very excited about this.. regardless of a possibly bad story.. I just want to witness it all lol

I saw the 3D trailer at Nottingham Imax and tbh, I thought the 3D looked terrible.

Now I don't know if for any reason a trailer would be of a lower quality than the final film, but if that's what it's going to be like, then 2D for me please.

It seemed to suffer really badly with that DOF issue, with a very stark and banded fore, middle and background.

Been off two weeks due to nose op and been stuck inside so thought id watch a day screening of this. Currently in the cinema went with 2d vue extreme at new Westfield. I am a fan of the other three will let you know what I think in few hours. Cinema is empty so sitting in the vip seats.

A few reviews have surfaced and this is a LOT better than I had expected, it's now turned into a movie that I want to see on the big screen.

I'm going to watch it tomorrow ...
I've seen the first one once 10+ years ago.
I'm not a fan of the others.
I couldn't even tell you which is 2 or 3 ..
I'm utterly on the fence about this film.

It looks ok... I don't think its going to be great.. Lets hope i'm wrong like usual :P .

Current state of CGI, I think we can put it to rest now the silly notion that JP CGI is better than JW, they almost look animatronic.

Even so, the state of VFX being what it is, deadlines are much shorter than they used to be, and many more shortcuts are taken so it could potentially be a lot better than what it is. A lot of my friends in post-production are getting increasingly disillusioned with the current race to the bottom that seems to be happening.

I'm off to the 1:45 showing at our local - standard 3D.
I'll be honest - trailer left me feeling a bit disappointed, but fingers crossed it delivers.

I saw it in 3D, and it is very very 3D, if that makes sense.
Anything that could possibly jump out of the screen at you, will do so.

The director obviously wanted to make the most of the 3D aspect! To the extent of never mind if this will be flickery and juddery.
And if there are two people standing talking, he has only one way of framing them.
And, well, he is not subtle about anything! Heavy handed in some ways. But... what I appreciated was the way
when someone dies, they DIE and they are not coming back to save the day or anything.
.

Of course the idea of InGen
wanting to weaponise the velociraptors was very silly, I thought. They should have just had Weyland-Yutani in the movie instead.

I really liked JW, I wasn't expecting too much but it's I think it's actually pretty decent. Good plot, characters you care about and good action.

Also didn't see the twist about the raptors coming, woops. But I didn't like the big sea-dino finishing off the fight, would have preferred the T-Rex to have done it himself
