Jurassic World

That did irk me a little that the older child was more interested in his phone than the awesome amusement park with flippin dinosaurs.

I think that was intentional; a reflection of today's 'eyes on phone' culture. You know; you've seen one dinosaur you've seen 'em all. I think it was the big one in the water that finally got his attention.

One of the few things that did make sense in the film.

Just got back from seeing this, 7/10 at best.

Some of the acting was laughable, lines were cheesy. Only got a higher score cos I laughed at it and because the Mosasaur was impressive.

Saw it a few week ago, 7.5/10

Typical Jurassic series film with it being rather funny. Good CGI and Chris Pratt was definitely the perfect actor for the role. Made me laugh throughout the film.

Also burst out laughing at the sponsorship throughout the film. Must have paid for its self before it even began to be shown in cinemas and then to make a reference to that in the film just added to the laughs. :D:D

Would definitely recommend to those who like action/comedy.

Well the USA Navy used trained dolphins so not not really in the world of unavailability is it?

Dolphins are intelligent creatures and it's not in their nature to kill humans or anything that moves, velociraptors on the other hand, will kill anything they can, even their so called masters.

If you can tame such a beast, you are removing what makes it such a deadly predator.

Gotta love human arrogance though, thinking they can train such efficient deadly predators as pets. :p

You bemoan human arrioganace but you're talking as if you are knowledgeable of the behavioural traits of a creature that has been dead for millions of years. Even the synthetic dino-hybrids in JW would not necessarily act like true dinosaurs. :)

At which point did they reference it? Must have missed that bit. Probs dosed off!

Did make me laugh where Chris Pratt conveniently picks up that ice cold bottle of Coca Cola though with the logo perfectly facing the camera.

Hehe when I was in the cinema their were a few asleep :D. They referenced it when they joked about their being a Verizon-asaurus or word to that effect when they were discussing funding of the park. ;)

Having not been around when velociraptors were running around I couldn't say with absolute certainty whether they could be trained or not, I will however defer to your experience in this area. Perhaps you should think about requesting an entry to the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living thing with your first hand experience of them... :p

I take the point obviously that they're unlikely to be trainable but it's also worth pointing out that people train big cats and other odd animals. I don't know if anyone trains crocodiles or alligators though as they're perhaps some of the closest extant relatives of the dinosaur predators you see in films.

Saw the film last night - entertaining enough rubbish but I don't think I'd be rushing to see it again. Amazing that the lady managed to keep her high heels on throughout the film and even outrun a T-Rex in them.

It was a fun film. Terrible acting, cheesy as hell, plot holes you could run a t-Rex through but if you just shut off your brain and take it for what it is then it's enjoyable enough.

I begrudge having paid cinema ticket peices for it but I have seen a lot worse in the past.

It's at its best when it's poking fun at itself/modern culture.

Watched this the other day, I neally fell sleep watching it (Doing a 12 hour shift before hand probably didn't help) but I just didn't enjoy the film at all.

Watched this tonight, good special effects but ultimate cheese.

They've obviously kept it open for another, but really, this franchise has run it's course imo.

5/10.

absolute cheese fest,

Loved every minute of it :)

needed Arnie and it could have just been predator :D

fastest movie ever to hit 1 billion, I think you can pretty much guarantee there will be plenty more
First film to hit $500m in it's opening weekend too. That's crazy money. With that sort of money it's guaranteed there will be another. (And Pratt has already signed he has signed up anyway)

To everyone going on about the product placement, err.. I didn't actually notice any? All I can think of is the cars (they have to drive some type of car anyway, and I couldn't even tell you what it was) and the jokes about the Verizon Wireless Tyrannosaurus or whatever?

Oh yeah absolutely, it's a given there will be more, I was talking more from my own POV. I won't be bothering with it anymore, it's tired, and borderline boring.

It doesn't matter what film it is, you can market any old tripe and make a lot of money quickly. You only need to look at Transformers 3 to see that.

So yeah, sure, they'll probably wring a sequel or two more out of it, then people will get bored and it will be on to the next thing. It's a marketing exercise, not a good-film-making exercise.
