Just a word of warning about CEX

I only ever use CeX for collectors edition games. Someone will eventually trade them in and they are always sold for cheap!

Snagged Fallout 3 in very good condition with everything for £20. :D

I would never even attempt to sell there, many of they're used items are priced the same as new items.

It's a joke, they're just taking advantage of people.

Make sure they give you back the one you took in...

The last time I tried to trade something in to CEX (a PSP S&L) they broke it within 5 seconds of taking it from me, in front of my very eyes... The idiot behind the counter opened the UMD door with such force that the hinge snapped, and then he denied doing it...

I couldn't be bothered to stand around and argue so I went home, put the PSP on Gumtree, and sold it for more than I would have got at CEX, even after telling the buyer about the broken hinge...

I walked into CEX once with a brand new copy of Jurassic world 3d (got it free with an order). They sold it for £17, but only offered me £2. Yep, TWO pounds lol

Decided to keep it.

Thanks for telling that story twice in one thread :p

I don't buy from them but I got £275 for my iPhone 6 a few months back instead of selling it on eBay. Saved all the hassle of ebay fees.

I used to work in one, it's not that the staff are out to scam people, they're just retarded

Uh! Brand new items once opened or used are no longer classed as grade A regardless of them being in pristine or immaculate condition? Items are seemingly automatically graded to grade B so as to offer a reduced priced/value? They still offer 2 years warranty on everything they sell though?

A dodgy individual nicked my credit card details in CEX once and spent £300.00 on cinema tickets at the Printworks in Manchester. Said individual recorded my card details using video and then emailed those details for the tickets. At this time there was no requirement to actually provide the credit/debit card to receive the tickets. You just turned up to the machine and input your email confirmation code in to it.
