Have you considered setting up security cameras?

heh, the worst part is that i actually fit the stuff professionally, just don't have the smegging time to do my own place!

aren't you required to get peoples permission if you wanna tape em braking into your house now?

You need to display signs warning passers-by that they could be recorded on your cameras, but anybody who breaks in or damages your property effectively forego their right to a warning.

Why are some of you such gimps.

"QUICK EDIT THE SWEAR WORD"

"OMG WTF SWEAR DETECTOR"

Get a life. The mods are there to sort it out. It's like the milk-monitor dob kid at primary school.

Oh shut up, they're only helping him avoid a possible suspension.

If you swore in one of your posts, what would you prefer, a quick warning off a member, allowing you to edit the post in time. Or a 7 day suspension?

I think you're the one who needs to get a life, trolling the people who are actually doing something useful.

I think you have to have a sign up if it covers anything that isn't your property, like next door neighbours drive.

I think if it only covers your property then you do not need a sign

If it's the same lot, it sounds like they're doing it as revenge for getting them caught in the first place or something. :/

tbh your a fool for staying in an area which is cleary a blackspot for theft / burgulary.

To move needs money. A large deposit (which i can just about get hold of) and a credit check (which i will never pass)

Maybe you're the fool for thinking i hadn't already considered (and tried) this option?

im sure there are plenty of better places in the UK that you could move to, be it to buy or rent.

there are mortgage companies that dont credit check and consider each persons case fully, rather than relying on a credit check.

So you have camera phone footage of the 'kids' from a witness, and the initials of the perpetrators, and the police caught them near your property! It couldn't get much easier for the police right? Its up to the justice system to work its magic now.

Security camers aint a bad idea.

Well i've just been to get this weeks crime number from the local station. Van has been done again. Between 7pm & 10pm tonight they ripped out the polythene sheet i had in the quarterlight on the passenger side (window was broken in the last breakin, haven't had a chance to replace it yet), reached in, wound down the window and unlocked the door. Helped themselves to a fleece from a box and tried to get the door open.

HA! I was parked against a hedge and a dwarf wall for a reason you stupid little barstewards!

Ho hum, i've got a sheet of perspex i can bodge into a window and gripfill in place i suppose (the ones that broke the window also nicked part of the window gasket so a proper window wouldn't stay put if i had one :() Looks like i need to chop into the steel and fit conventional 3 lever mortice locks too, need to keep the little phar-quars out somehow!

Oh, not again!

What are the police doing about it? I'd be very tempted to turn vigilante and take the law into my own hands if I was in your position.

Have you considered some lights that shine when someone's there or cameras or something?

seriously someone has it in for you... its obviously the same kids doing it, and the fact the police is letting them constantly do this, PROVES that our police force is a useless peace of **** that really shouldn't be getting any of our tax's. Id buy a gun or something.

Naff all the police can do, even when they catch them, they don't get prosocuted.

Van was parked JUST out of sight 40m from my door in a sidestreet, no good for cameras. Unless i get another couple of hidden wireless jobs and stash them in the van. ;) (really useful, but an utter ballache to sort out)

thats another point.... even when the police ARE successful, the justice system, ruinings there work.. Who cares if the "kids" are under 18.... they've comitted at least 3 crimes? straight to jail to be bum raped every night. then they wouldnt do it again.

you have three choices.

1.put up with it.
2.move to a different area.
3.take matters into your own hands.

IMHO 1 is no option at all.
if, for reasons best known to yourself, option 2 is not possible then you are left with option 3.

sit tight and do nothing and you're bringing this upon yourself now.

I'd sleep in the van every night untill they come back. Then I'd take them for a good old GTA influenced ride.

My local Spar has a cash machine and I parked up my car next to it to get some money out. I had my window down about half an inch but the car wasn't locked. This particular Spar, the local scumbags like to hang around outside like little doggies that their owner has tied up and run away from.

There must have been 10 of them at least, as usual. I made usre they couldn't see my pin although I was being shadowed by someone, I could feel it. As I was waiting for the cash I glanced over my shoulder to find one of them trying to push down my window for my MP3 player or something (music was left on).

In one quick move my left hand grabbed my money and then my right arm oiked the little oik off his feet and into the rather large window of the shop. I didn't stop to look at the aftermath, I just drove off.

Needless to say, I haven't seen them hanging around there for a long time. Luckily for me I live out the way of anything. I had a bike stolen once but it was left outside which was stupid of me.

I would take things into my own hands, but not too far. Zip ties are a great weapon. You can carry them legally and you can restrain someone very quickly if you have decent reflexes. Beats stooping to their level but could warn them off if you manage to tie them all to a railing overnight.
