hello, i bought 1 Gb of Corsair ram on an online auction and sent the seller, who had good feedback, a cheque. He never sent the Ram despite efforts to contact him.

Is there anything I can do about it? The cheque has now cleared. I regret not using Paypal.

Total value of the deal was some 95 pounds

You're screwed, NEVER pay by cheque, and wtf were you doing buying RAM from someone you actually THOUGHT had dodgy feedback?

He didn't think he had dodgy feedback, thats a typo of "good" not "odd" ;)

The item was won on 28th Feb, I posted a cheque with covering letter around 8th March and payment cleared on 12th March.

His delivery method was special delivery on the auction site and he acknowledged by e-mail when he received payment.

He has not answered any of my e-mails since then.

Seems to me that you have his address.

Bingo.

Turn up to his house and say "Where's my ram??" and proceed to use a small hand held door ram on his face.

But really inform Ebay and if you're not happy, inform the police, or your solicitor!

send him a letter by recorded delivery letting him know everything also saying that you are taking this step as a matter of courtesy and if he doesnt respond within 48 hours of receipt you'll be informing the police, it may be a genuine legit reason that he has cashe dhte cheque but then been unable to ship goods.

Go to his house, fill an envelope with dog poo, set it alight....then knock on his door and run :p When he put the fire out....:D

On a serious note though, hope you get it sorted, good thing is you have his address :)

You have an address to serve a court summons.....

The police probably won't want to know, but you can always get it through small claims court.

I'd give him a little more time. I've been 'that guy' who takes a little longer to post something and can't reply simply down to being called away urgently and having no access to a PC.

I agree give him a little more time i mean 3 days is not exactly a lot. Saying it only cleared on the 12th he may not of seen till late on on the 13th and not had time to post out on the 14th.

Give him some time.

If you have no joy speak to your bank who should hopefully be able to return the cheque unpaid for you.

Could he be waiting for the cheque to clear, that takes 3 or 4 days, dosent it ?

He said it cleared on the 12th, but if it was only posted on the 8th there is a good chance it's come out of the OPs bank but hasn't reached the sellers yet so you could be right.
