Just Brought A House!!!!!!!

The company selling it may well want to complete within 28days but i feel this is quite ambitious. I know in some property auctions, they ask the buyer to be ready to exchange within 28 days. (But they dont ask that they be ready to complete in that time scale). The solicitors may delay things, as queries/searches are carried out.

Im not saying its impossible for it to complete within 28 days, just improbable. And keep in mind anything can go "wrong" and until u exchange contracts the property does not belong to you in any way, shape or form.

It would be great though if u could keep us informed of how long it actually did take (when u have the keys), so we can learn from your experience.

Also,
1. are u paying for this property with cash or is a mortgage involved?
2. If mortgage is involved has the mortgage offer come through yet?
3. Is the survey completed and results back?
4. Have you appointed a solicitor yet?
5. Has the solicitor began work relating to your property?

gonna do it one room at a time i think.

Thats what i will be doing. It keeps stress levels low. And as u will be living there, its better to take your time and get things absolutely right (on a budget), rather than doing a rush job, going overbudget and stressing yourself out in the process.

Did you get this property in an auction?

Got it through the estate agent, got the solicitor, sorting out mortgage at weekend although financial advisor has said its just paper work to do, there will be no problems there.

I am trying to buy a house at the moment and where I want to it's a bloody nightmare. I lost out on one I wanted for the second time yesterday so extremely urined off today- so frustrating!

Congrats tho :)

Congrats chick, so when's the house warming party? I have plenty of alocohol - beer, wine and spirits :D

Whereabouts is it? If you don't wanna say on here you know where I am.

Work out your budget and then plan around that :)

As Blackstar said, do the essential rooms first and then move on to the other rooms :)

And congrats on your first house :D
