Just Cause 2

In the demo fps were rubbish and im using latest drivers, see spec in sig. Had to turn off most functions and keep textures high and rest medium or off tho doesnt look too bad and i get 40fps ish average. Some guy somewhere said with a similar setup but not quad but same card as me got 45-50fps.

What settings do u guys use and what fps do u get? Maybe do benchmarks?

Oh and i have aa x2 and af 4x i think at 1920x1080p. With everything on and maxed with vsync off i get 20-35fps in the demo benchmark, and as above with off i get 40 ish average fps.

Does the game have GfWL integration? I notice the logo on the box.

I am awaiting my copy this morning hopefully. My understanding is the game utilises the "Games For Windows" banner however it does NOT use ANY of the GFWL feature set.

The game does however utilise Steam and Steamworks which is infinitely better.

Apparently, the instructions do mention GFWL for adding in the DLC codes (Obviously, this now uses Steam), maybe they dropped GFWL support late into development. We get Steamworks which is great.

will the dlc items be something thats already in the game or will it be patches ?

You enter another code into Steam to activate the DLC once you have installed the main game.

Hmm seems best to restart the game for features to go off or on properly.

Heres my low settings.

Heres my medium/high settings.

Optimal settings 4x aa and 16x af and all options on includes vsync gives 27fps i think it was.

Hi,

Got the game yesterday and on my GTX 285 the performance is slightly disappointing.

So, in the game Borderlands there is a trick to increase performance by renaming the borderlands.exe file to UT3.exe that improved fps by 40 %.

This is a known fact up on the boards at gearbox.

Is is possible to do the same with this game?

I tried but then steam will not launch the game due to incorrect file name.

Is is possible to launch the game without steam?

BR Anders

Heh yeah tried to add my DLC code into GFWL and got an invalid code error so added it to Steam and it worked fine.

I was expecting 50-60 fps with all settings on max except that SAOU or whatever it is called because that option crashes my loading.

I get around 20 fps in the concrete jungle benchmark at 1680x1050. This is on a Q6600 @ 3.6 and gtx 285

Turn of SSAO, turn off high res shadows and change objects to medium should make a big difference I get a steady 50-60 Q6600 stock and 5850

Played this from midnight - 3am, really enjoyed it :)

Gutted I don't get the DLC like the hovercraft because I prepurchased through Steam though :(

Thanks for the tip.

But...I am going to mail the guys over at Avalanche Studios and tell em that the game is poorly optimized when I cant run it at good frame rates with all bells and whistles enabled on a relatively top graphics card.

I am Swedish so the devs dont work far from here. Maybe I'll pay them a visit :)

Dark tower - 58.33 avg frames (not bad with it capped at 60) - everything max at 1900*1200.

Enjoying the game, but only played for about 2 hours so far :)

Still deciding whether to go mouse/keyboard or gamepad - using gamepad atm. What are you all using?
