Just Cause 2

this is odd, I got the game working again, and I have a fresh copy of windows yet I still managed to go off were i left off o_O!!

thank god for that considering how big the game is

it does store the game settings local through (of course)

I'm bidding on an xbox360 controller, hopefully it will make playing this game a lot nicer, I can't stand the keyboard controls in this game, they seem very sensitive.

I found the keyboard controls odd at first.

After a few hours, they seemed fine.

I cannot imagine playing this game with a gamepad now.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but there's already lots of mods available from here http://www.justcause2mods.com/index.php/mods

Some mods give the game even more insane fun potential, as well as giving a few visual changes.

The black market, vehicle and weapon mods are a must. BOLOpatch is great, as in my opinion unlimited health and ammunition actually improve the game by removing the tedium of finding ammo or restarting from a spawn point :p

In fact just try BOLOpatch first, the multi-rope and strong-rope give you with hilarious opportunities :D

This is why PC games will always be better:

lol, that looks awesome!

I like the controller for planes but have got used to using keyboard/mouse for helis and road vehicles now.

I still think planes need rudder control...

I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks this. It's so much harder to fly a plane when you don't have a rudder.

Anyone know why, in the first chase scene you can use the grapple against the Humvees to send them flying, but after that, the cable just isn't strong enough and just nudges vehicles then snaps?

I only just discovered gas canister rides last night... :o How did I miss that!!!!

BOLO Mod is great although I've not experimented with strong or multiple rope option as I think it seems a bit silly and might ruin the game a bit. Also - if you have multiple ropes, how on earth do you release them all?

A few things they need to fix:

- Make save points proper save points. It's annoying starting miles away when I load a game.
- Rudders on planes as mentioned above
- The ability to move while crouching (or a "sneak option")

It makes sense to me that you start at the nearest 100% completed location.

Makes you work harder :)

Starting at a random location makes no sense.

Just use call in for an extraction.

Actually a few other points...

- When you've wiped out a base, enemies respawn indefinitely. Seems silly.
- Enemies always magically know where I am after I've used triggered explosives and am miles away.... hiding in a tree for example should make it much more difficult to find you.

But apart from that, it's really fun. :) I was wondering why I was struggling to keep my health up and then noticed that I'd completely forgotten about the Tab (evasive roll) key.. oops!

I've wiped out a lot of bases and when I go back, there are no enemies there.

When I've 100%ed a base, there are still enemies at the end but if you wipe them all out they are gone here.

Regarding the plane controls: I find aircraft quite easy to steer providing I don't touch the mouse. If I use the mouse at the same time, I lose control in seconds.

I don't mean the strongholds, I mean normal military bases :) The odd guy just keeps spawning and I'm thinking what the hell?

I think your missing the WHOLE point of the game.

OH NO... respwans...

Ignoring the games blatant disregard of Physics in the name of FUN.

What is the fun in walking around an empty base.

Keeps you on your toes as you are constantly looking for ammo.

I found that ammo isn't too much of a problem as you get a few hours in to the game... The respawns wouldn't be that much of an issue apart from that heat builds up quickly as a result of killing them constantly when I just want to have a nosey around places I've "conquered" :)

*shrug* Can't please all of the people I suppose.

I just don't like the on/off controls of a keyboard, I'd much prefer a gamepad where you can go from 0-100% on a control :)
