we had something like that in 1st year then it changed at my old uni

was a very odd system that marked from 1 to 16

scoring a 4 was a pass but required 40% not 25

14-16 was a 1st and required above 70%

it sort of restricted you from being able to practically fail one module and then make it up with others as you had to be consistent whereas a straight % system meant that you could basically scrape a pass in some modules and still come out with a 1st
 
Well done mate, getting a first is massive for you, particularly if you don't go to a top 10 university.

I think the day I found out I had scraped a first at Warwick was one of the best of my life, felt like a massive vindication for the first 22 years of my life.

I got you beat, 70.1%. It was nail biting stuff watching the exam marks roll out 1 at a time! It is great because I was working insane hours for the last 18 months, so to see it all come through and know that every hour of study was worth it meant a lot.


I got a Double First Class Joint Honours.

When they award a first there are normally some additional requirements, like only having 1 or 2 courses at a 2.1 level and any large project being 70% or above.

The evening after my last exam I had for my MSc. this year I actually came home to my gf, was fine for a couple of hours then just broke down. Congrats I graduated from coventry in 2008. Enjoy your day (In november I imagine...) I've just about finished my masters there now so hopefully will be graduating from that soon!
 
Adam, did you find your Media Production course actually usefull toward your photography ? Im in final year of Media Production at marjon in plymouth, im struggling to think of even a title for my dissertation and tbh im not really in sync with the course, my only interest is photography and they only give us one module out of 6 per year (not what they said on prospectus i may add). I dont find i actually learn anything on any of my modules, in year 2 they were still recommending us to use auto mode on the D70 or "if we really had to" use Auto and bracket in manual mode... my camera doesnt even have an Auto mode, lol.

As a result of this most of my peers still shoot on Auto and when the camera gets it wrong it ruins their shots. Considering they pay £3k a year in tuition fees I find this amazing!

20 x 5 = 100%
17 x 5 = 85%

Just think of each CAS point as five percent.

Anyway; congratulations OP on the first class.
