Just had my wisdom tooth removed

I've had it done, it wasn't that bad. Hurt more before they took it out. Came out quite easily and was over in a few seconds.

Same, both of mine (top ones, about 2 years apart), both came out quite easily. Few injections and a few tucks, and that was it. I even said "Is that it?" It didn't even bleed at all, just bite on the cotton sponge thing for a bit and went straight to Starbucks on the way home.

The bottom 2 are a different matter thou, both impacted against the front teeth, i am praying to all the god that they will never move.

I have to have all 4 out... :(

Well I had them all removed on Friday. I've had no pain at all and didn't need any kind of pain killers, no swelling or other side effects.

Very pleased with the NHS service and it couldn't have gone better, although I did dream that I'd finished all my coursework when I was under general anaesthetic :)

Edit: They had to saw away a bit of my jaw and they let me keep the teeth :p

does getting a filling hurt? Ive got this thing on one of my back teeth, (not wisdom, but just a little back), where when i drink liquid and it touchs that part, it sends a horrible painful sharp pain all the way down in my jaw, i think it needs filling?

Hi guys,

Im 21 and seem to have had wisdom teeth appering at the rear of my mouth for ages (well it seems like it!), they are never really uncomfortable but im aware new teeth are coming through.

I am right in saying you dont have to have them removed if there is no pain?

Everyone has wisdom teeth right?

you've got exactly the same problem as me then. I had mine filled a couple of weeks ago but it would appear she missed part of the damn hole so im gonna have to go back and get it all done again :( The procedure isn't too painful tbh, it all depends on whether the anesthetic works or not :p I had to have 2 injections when she filled my tooth but after that I didn't feel much. Should be fine mate.

alcohol lots of :-)
Not a wise idea, when some alcohol thins the blood, IIRC. The first 24 hours after having a wisdom tooth removed, the body is busy trying to fill the hole with a blood clot - you can work out the rest, surely?

I've had 3 teeth removed, the lower ones being the worst.

I needed mine out as they were growing towards my other teeth and would damage my teeth, regardless of pain. Get them checked out.

I know all about tooth pains!

It's a bugger indeed but when it's sorted it is great :D

having wisdom teeth out is a walk in the park :D

A week last friday I had a front tooth pulled and a dental implant fitted which is basically a titanium bolt screwed directly in-to your skull. and it's a self tapper which he wound in with a small ratchet

Typical I woke up at 5 this morning agony with my wisdom tooth and now I read all about some of you having them out and how much it hurt lol oh well, I have been putting off going to the dentist about mine for a while as its been on-going for a month or two, I guess I will have to give in sooner or later.

I have all of my wisdom teeth, absolutely no bother with them at all. :D

Blast this thread! I was just planning to have my wisdom teeth removed as well!!! ARGH I'm scared now. :(

It's nothing, there's no pain at all, even with them sawing a bit of my jaw bone out :)

I highly recommend the general anaesthetic route though, got mine done at the hospital Richard Hammond was taken to after his crash.
