Just had the worst phone call of my life

Sorry to hear that Tank. Hope you're doing ok, all things considered.

My mum literally just called me to say that my Dad has been rushed into hospital last night, he was due to start Chemo tomorrow. (Had cancer for a while, but it's now back and with vegence. First time he was to have chemo) They have no idea what is wrong... No idea how I feel or what to do, i poured a whisky. That seemed like the best idea.
Sorry to hijack, just need to muse.

Sorry for your loss Tank, I had an uncle who died from pancreatic cancer, it was devastating, he was such a loving man, and his knowledge in biology and physics was incomprehensible.. truly a loss to the world, little did we know his worth until he was gone :(

Chin up mate, May your Mother R.I.P ..

I've my fingers crossed for you Ahleckz, from what you wrote there is hope for your dad. You see with my mum it was terminal from the start, so she and the rest of us knew she was ******, we just didn't want to except it.

my dad had cancer at 36, something to do with his blood and bone marrow, was on a machine to help him breathe and when it got clogged up they had to stuff a tube down his throat, it hurt him so much it was hard for me to watch. over a long period of about 2 years i watched him get, better, worse, better, worse... he died last year :(

i do not wish the same on anyone else. my best of best wishes go to you. :(

Just read through this thread, I will add my condolences to you tank. I found out 2 days ago my father was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophigus and just doing a little reading it seems pretty serious. Reading this thread reinforces that. I hope you are coping well.

PS not trying to hijack your thread.

Just been reading through this thread and its been pretty heart touching stuff, im a bit late to say this but Im sorry for your loss Tank. Slam, I wish you best of luck with your father too.

Sorry to hear that mate... I've been through a similar experience with my dad (Terminal Pancreatic Cancer). The road is long my friend, even years after. I found it changed me. Part of me died with my dad but in some ways it makes you a stronger person too. I made new friendships, found new strengths. Good things come out of all situations. Find strength in your family and friends and be with them as often as you can is my best advice.

Matt
