Just Installed my Corsair H80i

As you can see in my case I can fit a H100i, but thought to myself...why would I need a big ass cooler? I'm very happy now I bought the H80i instead of the H100i.

I have temps 25 to 28c now, so the H100i would've been overkill really. I'm never going to OC more then 4.2 to 4.5 so for me I see no reason. Others might feel different.

Yeah the wires are a little bit of a pain, but you'll find ways of hiding them:)

Ok, I thought something was amiss...when I looked @ my pump / fans, they were all set to 0, and not displaying as connected..many, many bios tweaks & resets later...it was my G15 keyboard being plugged into my front usb header that was somehow incompatible with the h80i.

Now I removed my keyboard 7 plugged it back into the rear of the unit (was in front for testing - having issues with it) I can see all my device stats once more. Tried the config of grouping the fans with the H80i instead of the intel cpu, and yes , it's now MUCH quieter, my unit too was up and down all over the rpm's when it was regulated by my cpu temp.

Now my pc is soo quiet, I can hear my secondary hdd moving :)

nps - this is with the fans set to "performance". Gives you anice step up on the fans for gaming, without going all out for cooling. They do have a "max" which is nice for testing stability, it's hellaloud tho :p

@ RetrogamerX - what setting did you have your h80 @ to get those temps?

I just used fans at performance and it's been pretty stable at 60c

Same results :D

Cheers :) Couple more questions though :D

@snakefood and RetrogamerX
Are you using 1 or 2 fans and any idea what rpm range the performance setting uses? Or does it auto adjust according to temps?

@Ripshod
Thanks, was just a bit curious as to whether temp readings were accurate. You know how some software can be ;)

TBh, I'm beinching mine now with fans @ 100%, and it's not really making that much difference, maybe 2c on 2 cores. At the low temps we both running at, not really going to make any difference, apart from making you go a litte deaf in one ear :P

I used 1 fan all day yesterday and tbh having 2 fans doesn't make that much difference. with 2 fans it only went down 1c to 2c lower with both fans.

I'm thinking about going back to 1 fan really.

If you click on each fan, and look @ the little picture on the left, it shows a picture in dicating how the rpm scales with temperature. Top of the chart is 4k rpm (fan max is 2500). Taking that into accord, you can see roughly where the fan can spin up to. Best I can offer, unless there's a decent white paper out from corsair stating all the details.
