I was just 20 metres away from where she landed.

There was a girl on top of stratford centre car park, on the other side of the safety rails and holding on to the rail with one hand and leaning out.

There was a bunch of about 15 people all with their phones out. Not to phone the emergency services, but pointing it at the girl and recording a video. :eek:Absolutely shocking. Anyway, I phoned 999, but two minutes later she jumped.

Police arrived 2 minutes after she jumped, they didnt even look at the girl, and just started faffing around with "do not cross police" tape. Air ambulance came 10 mins later and were doing CPR.

Anyway i'm pretty shocked, it was a horror movie scene. Just wanted to let the internet know.

Police didn't check life signs and did not start cpr?
If that is the case that is shocking.

Not the nicest thing to see happen.

No, my mum was a first aider, but Police started clearing everyone away without even seeing to the girl.

When the air ambulance started doing CPR 10 mins later i though WTF? my mum could have done that within seconds.

It's very un-fortunate you had to see something like that.

I am a little confused as to why Police didn't attempt to assess her, they are all first aid trained, my first instinct as someone who has the same training (Plus the knowledge I have from triaging 999 calls) would be to check if she was breathing etc, that 10 minutes could have saved her life. Did she intend to jump (I.E Suicide or was it accidental?

As for the people recording.. disgusting.. they're going to have to live with that on their head for a long time.

You and/or your mum needs to put a complaint in. Didn't check and did not perform cpr. that's more disgusting than the phone recording.
Or is this some new BS red tape police can't do in case they are sued.

It was definately intended. She was taunting, leaning out, screaming, swapping hands on the rail.

Okay mate, if I were you I would be looking to talk to someone about it. Been involved in this type of thing with work and it will sneak up on you and get to you when you least expect it. Have a word with the police, obviously you're a witness and need to get it out of your system, and I don't mean in a 'Quick to internetz' kind of way either. Must have been horrific :(

I suggest you attempt to see someone about this. There are plenty of options out there.. whether you go through your GP or the Samaritans. They can both reccomend counciling services.
