im not sure trying to command a group of people into position with something like a jacket would be successful, probably more likely for the faller to land on someones neck resulting in 2 deaths.
I wonder what the best way to try and catch someone falling from that height is...
The thought of catching her crossed my mind. But then I remembered I'm only 9 stone, and then thought, no.

As already mentioned you would have joined her in the Ambulance if you had attempted to save her.
Use a little trigonometry, your thinking too vertical my friend! Run across and judge the path of their fall and do a sort of rugby tackle thus reducing their vertical velocity.

They didnt take her in an ambulance though. Just covered her in a red blanket untill the investigation guys came and set up a tent on top of her body.
Watched a lad fall through a glass roof in town, was out celebrating Wigan getting into the prem and everybody was out in the street singing at 2am and some lads claimed onto a glass window above a veranda and he was jumping up and down then next minute he went through it, he had no shirt on and sliced the side of his chest open and fell 15 feet.
Was not pretty but he survived.

They would have had a video of people shouting to come down...the public and police. I don't think they would film someone going to die not intentionally

Christ, that's a bit of a downer for a Saturday night. As people have said I don't think the people recording thought that the girl was going to actually take her own life. nobody in their right mind would want a video of someone committing suicide to play back at their leisure.

You and/or your mum needs to put a complaint in. Didn't check and did not perform cpr.that's more disgusting than the phone recording.

It is by proxy complainers like yourself that help mire the cops in red tape in the first place.
You weren't there, I wasn't there and the cops, for whatever reason, made a judgement call that seemingly didn't involve CPR. Maybe they had intelligence on the jumper that affected a decision to attemp CPR ?
If they should have done more then that will be highlighted by the Coroner.
The real issue here is that someone has jumped from a building, an aftermath of which I wouldn't wish on anyone, and some of the posts on here are frankly disrespectful at best and disgraceful at worst.
At Asim .... you did the right thing mate. Don't beat yourself up with a million questions you can't answer.
There are creatures of the lower class who film themselves or their fellow degeneratives abusing/torturing animals and no doubt humans. Dont be so sure they wouldnt film someone jumping, knowing the terrible end result.
