A new Mazda 3 2.0 Sport in Black, looking for delivery in early march should be sweet, its the most ive ever spent on a car just looking at the order makes me queezy @ £15k

Same platform as the Focus MkII so should handle nicely. I think they look really nice too, the interior is better than the Focus. Only thing though mate, the price, a lot of nicer cars to be had though a broker. Thats 1k shy of a ST 2 ;)

Nice car but i think you can get the Mazda 6 TS or TS2 for that price after some negotiations.

but that price includes leather seats and DVD satNav which is 2ks worth of extras and the RRP for that model with paint is £16k so i didnt do badly

Thats a hell of a lot of money for a mid size hatchback.

Whilst it is a pile of cash, i feel a BMW 330D or 530D Tangent comming on. its new, has a 3 year warranty and 0 miles on the clock, something your 15k will not get you with a secondhand BMW.

Nice Mate, I got a good friend who works for Mazda and that is a good price with the extras on so feel proud. Are you buying it on finance? if so how are the repayments working out?. They are good cars, although an ex demo mazda 6 would have been a good buy for 15k.

You will love the car and the 2.0 engine is sweet with good performance, what colour did you get?

Who makes/supplies the engine is it a duratec?

Just seems like a ridiculous amount of money considering quite a few places are prepared to sell you a Focus ST for that - fundamentally the same car but with better projected residuals and better performance.

Not everyone wants the running costs of a volvo and a depreciation of a Ford, and in summary that is the Focus ST.

Despite what is predicted atm, it isn't an RS and so depreciation will be reasonably typical with Ford STs

Agree, I wouldn't spend £15k on it, I'd have the Focus too, even if it was bare bones - but horses for courses n all that. It's still a nice car and I'm sure Mazda are selling plenty of these day in day out even at £15k.

It's all about peoples tastes and what's important to them. A lot of people get in a car, like the way it feels - and buy it there and then without looking at the competition. Impulsive people freak me out but there's plenty of em!

The Focus though may be thirsty, attract theft attention and may well have some unearthed reliability issues. Hard to say, it's all a bit early for them and you do have to be a touch more dubious of Fords than Mazda's.

Also going off a very limited experience of the engines the combined mpg of the focus seems very optimistic for the 2.5 Turbo when I was getting low-mid 20's combined out of the 2.0 Turbo.
