just started to play wow

I lost 2 years of my life to warcrack......when I think back I could kick myself for ever starting but you live and learn (Full epic'd out 70 alliance paladin for sale anyone?)

I lost years of my life to WOW.

Unless you really really want to push for raiding, I'd suggest WAR instead. Dont get me wrong. I think WOW is a brilliant game. But wayyy to time consuming to keep up with other players. or cross server guilds (If u're aiming for first killls on the server or comparing to the better guilds else where).

Just my thoughts.

You can Pee Vee Pee on World of Warcraft from a low level, just don't expect to be any good at it.

The armoury on the wow-europe website i believe mate.

I can't link it at the moment as my work netspace wont allow me on it!

Mmmm... Was about to say if you sold them their names could have been changed by the new owner :)

I don't miss raiding at all, I have no idea why I even used to bother.

Get home from work, quickly eat dinner, get online for 6.30 ready for raid invites, get repairs/consumables sorted, travel to raid locations.
Spend the next 3-3.5 hours clearing Mount Hyjal/Black Temple/Serpentshrine for the 116th time (I swear I know what each and every group is for the MH waves) wait for an item to drop, only to miss out because someone has more DKP that you. Wash, rinse, repeat next raid day.

Add onto that guild politics (never underestimate how seriously people take this game) and it all just seems unbelievable. I look back now, and think...what the hell was I doing?

To be honest, I'd still play now if WotLK wasn't such utter crap, but not the raiding. Some of my most enjoyable gaming experiences have been doing 5man instance runs with some RL mates over TS - Black Rock Depths (BRD) was, IMO, my most enjoyable of them all. Blizzard ruined WoW :(

Wow raiding is terrible, aye. The game needs more long term progression, skill building and exploration. Getting purple sweeties for killing the same monsters every night for years is just awful.

I was there since Day 1 of Euro release until Nov'08.
Raided and killed everything, ran a well respected guild and collected every stupid 'item'.

It's addictive to most because of greed and envy. People always want 'more' for their virtual puppet. Benevolent and genuinely nice people are few and far between within WoW.

Mount Hyjal was probably the most tragic encounter, although Sunwell was utterly terrible too.

ha you ever notice that low level people with greens always seem more nice and well balanced, yet the epic crowd are generally morons and take everything so damn seriously.

Its almost as if the more powerful their char becomes the more of a **** they become.

Good post!

Problem with wow, at least when I played before the expansions, it was completely polarised. It was both brilliant and the escapism out of this world, but like all good things, bad for you.

To be the best or to even compete at a high standard you need to be on A LOT, to get to see the best content of the game you need to be in a raiding guild. In the end I realised I was addicted plus I was fed up of the inbred morons that were prevalent in the game.

I stopped at BT due to work commitments. hehehe Yes I agree. I've met some guys whose ego grows with their gear. Its like they are merged as one sometimes LOL.

Amazing what this game brings out in people sometimes aye.

There are times when i play wow a lot and other times where i dont play it at all for weeks or months. It all depends usally on what other games i am playing at the time.

When leveling chars i tend to only level them if they have a nice rested xp bonus. I do find leveling up fun though since you see big improvements in your character, but at level 80 you have to put in a lot of time and effort to see small improvements

As for raiding i've never really got into raiding, i'm quite happy with the items you can get from pvp, heroics, rep. My girl friends play wow so we quest and instance together a a lot.

I always find the game more rewarding when instancing with random people rather then a guild. With guilds people dont make mistakes, the tank always does their job the healer does their job and the dps never get aggro. With randoms theres always some one who can make a mistake or always something that doesn't go to plan so you actually have to think and adjust to the situation, if you know what i mean.
