I never shy from an opportunity to take the mick out of stupid people, and I honestly didn't think those extinction rebellion pancakes would ever be trumped in the stupid stakes, yet here we are :D

"Just stop oil"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-60951403

In what must be the most spectacular way of telling the world that you're probably the best poster child for the Dunning Kruger effect, these idiots are now protesting oil. No reasoning apart from "oil bad" as usual, the force with which these idiots shove their stupidity down our throats is truly a thing to behold.

To be clear before the usuals jump all over me, I do agree that oil is a disgusting business which puts profits over everything else and our dependency on it is unsustainable but the fact is that we're completely and utterly dependent on it as a society and are in no position to just "stop oil".

Also, I just like taking the mick out of idiots who deliberately put themselves in the limelight not knowing how completely and utterly stupid they are presenting themselves to anyone with half a brain.

Who also have a habit of putting their beliefs aside when the weather's a bit chilly.

We'll call them "fair weather, mild, occasional protesters" :D

I find old people on the roads to be a massive inconvenience; slow, unpredictable, aimless. Am I OK to run you over?

I must be honest, watching you go from that happy-go-lucky dude a year or so ago to someone who could start an argument in an empty room has been rather entertaining, but I do worry about you sometimes. Everything ok dude?

I noticed another video of them earlier today, an ambulance and a fire engine, both on blue lights were trying to get through. But the protesters were blocking the road.. AND the police were standing around doing nothing.

I think its becoming obvious that the higher ups have told the beat police not to remove the protesters unless they really have to.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I lost a loved one because these vermin delayed the emergency services, I'd very likely take one for the team and force the governmemt to act.

Damaging / destroying something is not a good form of protest (for anything not immediately life threatening). If I saw one of these clowns doing anything like this it would be very hard to resist giving them a good shoeing.

I reckon we should support them tbh. When they glue themselves to something, get some proper glue and cover them in it. Like that spray stuff that simply never, ever lets go. Easily applied, cheap to purchase and will really help them get their message across as they'll still be supporting their cause, in the same place, in the same pose, in a decade's time. Fantastic stuff.

I always see people say “they are turning people against their cause“

Is the average person really so stupid that they will suddenly go from caring about saving the planet to not caring about it simply because some trust fund kids did a few annoying protests ?

edit: the answers probably “yes” isn’t it lol

Few things could bring me more joy right now tha watching someone pour a 5l bottle of 10W40 over them whilst they're glued to whatever the flavour of the day is.

They're on the A40 this morning next to Baron's Court. Pretty close to where my wife works, and pretty close to where we live. It's our commute home.

I'm gonna go check the workshop for some chains and padlocks, if they're in my way on the way home I'm padlocking those vermin to the street furniture.

******* cockroaches.

Anyway. I went there loaded with chains and padlocks ready to dish out the pain but sadly they were all gone.

Just as well, I could only fit 6 lengths of chain and 6 padlocks in my wife's Vespa.

I've had an idea. How about we purchase a load of those big steel fence things that the roadworks contractors use, then get some nice big vinyl sheets made, in black, with white text saying "NOTHING TO SEE HERE PLEASE MOVE ALONG" and cable tie them to the barriers. We can then round these vermin up and surround them with the fences and let the rest of society carry on.

I think I've hit the nail on the head there tbh, maybe I should start a Kickstarter for it.

You see a headline and froth.

No, I see work shy, time rich, wastes of skin and bones sitting on motorways preventing people from getting on with their daily lives. That's what I see. I see needless destruction and vandalism of private property by a bunch of hypocrites who have been proven time and time to enjoy the very comforts of life that they're condemning.

I don't think anyone's arguing that our dependency on oil should be reduced, but the means to their end is what's rightfully ******* everyone off. Go protest at no. 10 or something where they can implement change, or better still, go to Beijing and do it there as China's one of the world's biggest polluters. Will they do it though? No, of course they won't, because it'd be too much of an inconvenience for them to actually take proper action, so instead they clog up a country's motorways which is one of the world leaders in green initiatives, because it suits them.

So no, the whole "you see headlines and froth" is a load of tosh, I froth because I see a bunch of useless hyptocrites doing the absolute bare minimum in the comfort of their nicely heated homes to somehow justify their pathetic existence.

In fact I think we should start a Gofundme to send them to Johannesburg, all expenses paid, to go clog up the roads there and make their point. Let's see how many of them actually commit.

Quick question...

Do you:
A) agree there is a climate crisis?
B) feel that sufficient action is already being taken?
C) feel that the climate patterns we are seeing are normal variations, no action needed?

Yes
No
Undecided

I'm not sure if you're trying to justify the actions of the vermin that clog up our roads, but I fully support things like the Dutch cyling around the private jets. Unless its my private jet ofc, in which case I'll be having protestor soup for dinner.

Another self-indulgent eco terrorist preventing people getting on with their lives and causing economic damage. Enough is enough.

Change the law to use proper force (anything goes) to remove this scum, then into a 24 hour court to fast track offenders, followed by a spell locked up.

The problem is that sooner or later they're going to push the wrong person slightly too far and it's going to end horribly. I wonder if the gov will be able to stop trying to knife each other in the back long enough to pay attention then?
