*** Justice League Thread ***

I don't think it will magically make the film better, it had too many core issues for that to happen that can't be fixed by a little VFX tweaking, but it'll still be interesting to see the "original" version. I really like Josh Wheddon's work but you couldn't have picked a worse person to continue a Snider film - Mr Humourless Dark and Gritty followed by Mr Light and Funny - thats just not a good mix of styles to make a cohesive film.

I'll still give it a watch anyway.

Just to update my thoughts now we know more - I initially thought it was purely VFX changes and a "a few" scene changes however the teaser and the subsequent panels with Snyder make it look far more like a new film which is much more interesting to me.

My biggest issue with JL is that it was all too convenient getting everyone together, and all the new characters had zero back story. The superman arc also was a massive distraction and I kinda hope they cut a lot of that out.

If they are basically spending 1.5 hours extra to give them film more depth then it will be a massive improvement, however if they end up spending that time just to have more fights, or add more villains then its not going to fix anything.

SO you asking for this to be 4h long? the movie was already like 2+h long!!

Watched JL for the first time last night. For some reason I never had a burning desire to watch it but have to say it was really enjoyable. DC definitely needs that darker element that Marvel doesn't offer. Also, Batfleck is my second favourite next to Christian Bale. He nails the role as an older Bruce Wayne. IMO not having Darkseid in the film is the right move, a build up to him is much better and gives more length to the story.

I totally agree, as far as stories go, DC is much better written and consistently stronger than Marvel in the comics. WB execs just can't keep out of it and were watching Marvel/Disney go from strength to strength and wanted a part of that pie.
Just let Nolan and his brother write the scrips for the entire universe.

If the movie needs to be 4 hours long to do it properly it suggests more build up work should have been done before the movie. I wonder how long Snyder would have wanted if he’d done it first time around for cinema release.

Well, exactly.

Warner Bros just wanted to Join the Marvel rush, as MCU movies were pretty much making 1 billion dollars every time they released something.

Batman is basically the Iron-man of the MCU (IMO) but whereas MCU gave Iron Man 2 movies before the Avengers team up, with DCCU we just saw a tiny cameo in Suicide Squad (where he gave the kiss of life for a weirdly long time) and then he was immediately on a crusade to kill Superman.

They should have given everyone their own movie first, e.g:
Man of Steel,
A Batman movie,
Wonder-Woman,
Aquaman
The Flash

And introduce Cyborg in one of those movies, a bit like they did with Black Widow in Iron Man 2.

Batman vs Superman shouldn't have happened until after they had teamed up IMO. They needed to build towards it like 'Civil War'
