Katana

I would say you would need to pay upward of £500 for something of a good quality

Plenty of stuff on the bay but I'm guessing the quality of 90% of it will be pants.

it will be really hard to get real ones.
we have one as we have one running through the family.
the steel used for for real katana is not the usuall tat you find in UK. In japan is steel is called "tama hagane" its much stronger and the finish is nothing like a painted on chrome silver.

i suggest you actually go to japan and get one made for your self with the makers mark.

and somehow bring it over.

i suggest you get it made by this guy

A truely authentic, properly hand made folded steel katana will cost you well into 4 or 5 figures, as they are a work of art. A really good one from a master craftsman can reach 6 figures...

You can pick up something mass produced for a lot less, but it won't be the same :)

Authentic Katana's made by Japanese forgers will cost thousands of pounds. There's a long waiting list.

For quality "non authentic" Japanese Katana's with quality, look at Paul Chen. Start from £200 for the Pratical Plus to around £1000.

I hope you're not going to try and cut someone in half with it... because, as we all know, thats very possible ;)
