Many of the memes using black people are on some level perpetuating stereotypes of black people.
So the key question is whether perpetuating any sort of stereotype is inherently bad. I think the right answer to that is that it’s ALWAYS contextual and there can be no hard and fast rules, particularly when we are dealing with humour which is frequently expressed in bemusement, which is very complex and often defies analysis.
