Kerbal Space Program

Need arcs equa distance from centre of mass. So one cluster near the top and one cluster near the base.
Then get in Scott Manley youtube channel and find docking tutorial.

No time scales, but it's a massive update, would suck Torstar something massive now and need to redo everything in a few weeks.

When you get bored of just visiting. You can do stuff like this.
Launching and landing that assembly buggy was a mission and a half.

finally Mun Base established

I need to add some solar panel modules, but I suppose I should make a kethane module and rover and a mun fuel space station. for missions to deep space. some communication satellites would look good as well.

The spacecraft you will be doing docking with only have that up on the builder then turn on the centre of mass for the part. Then make sure you put the rcs thruster as the same point as it. That way when you use rcs it will only move in the direction and not rotate.

oh KSP you bloody hateful game, came back to it tonight, wiped my KSP folder, updated, installed a few mods, 32 bit mode constantly crashes, went into 64 bit, parachute category doesn't exist, more crashes, I've spent about 90% of the time fixing mods & crashes, not fun at all :(

What mods are people running (safely) with?

I don't know about the mods, but I can tell you that pretty much all mods are designed to work with the 32bit version of the game because the 64bit version is still quite buggy even in vanilla

Last time I played I installed everything on this page

Stock... Try it, it works every time.
And if you make Stock craft, they are compatible with every other Stock installation of KSP. ;)
I do like some cosmetic modifications for KSP, when I play 0.90!

If you must mod KSP, try installing one mod at a time so you can trace which mod is crashing the game.
Good luck, and I hope you get to play soon.

Yeah don't even bother with 64bit KSP.

Not strictly true.
I personally test Windows + OSX Builds.
And during early versions and release build of 0.9!
Found the following patterns with Build Stability on the specified OS's:

Windows 32Bit = Stable.
Windows 64Bit = unstable (Extensive testing with unity 4.5; We can find no specific reason why the 64Bit crashes intermittently. But we suspect is may have some relation to Git Project Manager when compiling Windows 64Bit Builds.)
Linux 32Bit = Stable.
Linux 64Bit = Stable. (Modders Paradise.)
OSX 32Bit = Stable. (Does not like Yosemite.)
OSX 64Bit = None.

I hope that clarifies things. And if members truly want to go nuts with mods; It's strongly recommended players look to Linux. :)

Ended up running stock parts with some other mods, addedB9 & KAS and all seems fine!

Started a new career, did the usual Kerbin stuff then headed off to Mún!

Usually so bad at the landing burns, end up bouncing everywhere, but flawless this time, thankfully, as I:

Forgot landing legs
Forgot solar panels & batteries

Sorry, yes, I assumed it was Win64 being talked about. I concur that the Linux build is damn solid, I run it through Ubuntu no trouble.

This must be the longest running early access game ever! Longest one I've had. Tbh I think it has got too complicated with unnecessary extras such as money and the different training levels of the astronauts, among other things.

Why not just have missions and unlock stuff as you go, with the kerbals being their usual incompetent selves?

The finished game (if it ever gets finished) is going to be so complicated it'll turn people away.

The game is in Beta and the next release will be the full 1.0 version. I think the gameplay is now finalised, and we're only waiting on a few upgrades (such as improved aerodynamics) before they game is complete.

You also have the choice of full career, science-only career and sandbox modes. I think there is also a scenario generator mod that works in sandbox, although that may not be being supported anymore since contracts arrived.

It's not to complicated if you go career mode, as it slowly introduces you to new ideas. And once you learnt those ideas they become very easy.

You could spend several hours trying to reach orbit, but once you figure it out, it becomes child play.

Can't wait for more depth to be added.

I totally agree with your first point.

I have been playing and testing KSP for almost four years. And the game has come along so well in that time.
It must also be noted, that KSP is one of the few truly successful early access games (Delivering and exceeding original development goals) it has also a very large, active and friendly community, here and on official channels (Forum, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter.)

As noted by Glaucus + macmodder there is three game modes, to get your daily fix. And lowering of the difficulty through different options ingame is possible. So KSP can be tailored to your experience level.

Bainbridge: if you could be more specific and expand, on why you feel the game is becoming so difficult/hard in areas. I promise to forward your feedback to a Dev, so your comments can be considered and applicable applied after the next release..

On a final note:
Kerbal Space Program has officially gone into the experimental testing phase. So the last milestone before version 1.0 goes out to you gamers. :)

I need to keep doing mission based career more, I always get bored with the early "Test X decoupler at x height and speed" and never get into the properly awesome stuff, Science career however I play a lot! :)

This isn't a tight git question, but when it reaches 1.0 do we need to buy it again? Or does our pre-release purchase still work? I wouldn't care as I would buy it again in a heartbeat, but just wasn't sure!

Multiplayer has always been a bit pants. Tried on a couple of different occassions but never had much fun.

TimBrad: I have always assumed not. However major updates after 1.0 will be fair game I imagine. There was some talk of DLC a while back, but there was such a negative reaction Squad basically said they wouldn't do it
