just got the first part of my space station into orbit, all went well and got a good circular orbit around Kerbin.
It then dawned on me I had fitted the 6 way docking thingy, but hadn't realised the clamp o trons weren't fitted, aaaaaaaarrrrrgghhh!
Still, wont do that again

btw does anyone have any tips for rendevousing (sp?) with your station when its up???
Muhaha thats a good mistake to start with.
I am not sure if there is any differences with Clamtrons.
Mini, Unprotected, Covered Clamptrons, but I prefare the covered one, I can then open/close them as I wish.
As for advice:
When planning to dock, take the lights with you. They make docking at night much easier.
On launch pad, hold your launch until the Target is about 1/5th an orbit behind you, so your launching into its path.
Prefarably have your station in a circular orbit, or as close as possible.
AP: 75KM PE: 80KM. This means you Station has minimal variates, but also only Accerates or De-Accelerayes by a small margin.
Now your Rocket is in space, heading in the same direction an roughly same speed. Then Select the Station as your Target in Map view.
You'll notice the Prograde/Retro grade symbols now relate to to the Target Station an NOT your orbit of Planet/Moon.
Are you now infront or behind the station?
If your infront by a Massive margin (100+ km);
You need it to catch you (Fuel Economically) so by Lengthening your orbit than the Station will catch you.
(But dont just burn Retro-Grade, as you'll now burn away from the station.)
Slowly burn Pro-Grade, so your orbit chanes to AP: 75KM PE: 82KM.
This causes your Rocket to travel 10km more per orbit of Kerbin.
So increase Time warp an let it get to with 10KM.
Then eye ball the rest, using the Retro-Grade an Pro-Grade marking on the Nav Ball.
Finally make contact insanely slowly; Less than 0.1m/s.
Phew...
