KFC - Downhill?

I had one of the KFC Christmas stuffing stackers last week, it was OK. I found the stuffing incredibly dry even with the gravy so I took it out and didn't eat.

I'd forgotten just how much I dislike KFC fries these days. I don't think they've ever been all that good but I find them pretty much inedible now.

Last time I had KFC I had food poisoning and missed a close friend's wedding. Think this was... 5 years ago.

Annoyingly before that, used to like it, this was from a different branch. But still can't stomach the thought of one.

Had a KFC last week. It was hot (temperature) and bland and very greasy. I don’t think they let the chicken ‘rest’ after cooking as so much juice/fat came out and the coating is so far removed from what it used to be (why? - simply no reason!).

In contrast I sometimes go to a ‘Favourite’ chicken, I find their food has far more flavour and is very reasonably priced.

When talking about KFC to friends and family, they mostly choose other chicken places over KFC and nearly always state that it is because of much that has been discussed in this thread.

I still maintain that many of the issues is not just down to cost, but also down to those that take on the francise.

Same for me, KFC used to be a good standard, almost a benchmark, but not anymore. I'm not sure if it's KFC getting worse, other places getting better or maybe a bit of both.

There is a chain in South London called Morley's which is so much better than KFC, also this place called Chicken Time just up from Arnos Grove tube station, actually I think the latter being the best fried chicken I ever had.

They used to do a large chicken meal, like 2 bits of regular chicken, 3 wings and fries, bloody lovely.

It's been a good many years since I been to Chicken Time, but quite often have Morley's when I'm visiting my brother's.

I do love good fried chicken, I think it's close between that and a good kebab.

Exactly this. Its down to who runs it. Our local kfc got shut down instantly and was slapped with a food hygiene of 1. Pink slimey chicken is all you got there. Not touched kfc since

What the hell have they done to the chips? They tasted odd I used to like them but now they're horrible.

Personally I like them, but that they come like this as standard is not a good thing.

They do have a decent amount of spice to them, and my young kids cant eat them. So whenever I forget to ask for the kids meals without seasoning on the chips, I have to go spend another few quid on plain chips.

I think it varies wildly between restaurants. I believe they're franchises with relatively little oversight from above; wouldn't surprise me if some don't keep to the normal standards. My local is terrible, but if I go to the one a bit further away it's a totally different experience.

anyone seen this Zinger Zinger deal advertised , £6 meal for two?
seems pretty good , only lasts to end of week though
This is actually one of the best deals they've had in ages. Sadly their Zinger stuff gives me awful cramp-like pain in my lower GI tract a few hours after I eat it, so I don't anymore. Chilli in general doesn't do this to me, so I'm not sure what they're using to spice it up.
