KFC - Downhill?

I usually only have it if I fancy a day or two off work taking a mini break in costa del bog, please sir can I have some chicken in my bucket o grease?

I think our local is one of the worst, normally when I'm out and about they are a lot better so I think we are just unlucky.....yeah those chips though.

The one next to my work must have the worst chips of any KFC ever, and thats saying something! I still like their zinger burgers but not much anymore sadly. Even the riceboxes ive had lately have been worse.

Maybe its just nostalgia though :)

I think its dependant on the area with KFCs, The two local ones near me within 5 miles of each other are terrible...dry chicken, Dry stale burger buns, Dry Fries...everything is DRY!
But i went to one further out like 20 miles and it was good, I don't think KFC is anywhere as near as nice as they use to be, But again what is these days they have removed a lot of ingredient's that made them nice.

Complained about the dryness of a bucket of 20 hot wings via the feedback email they send out after ordering and got a £10 voucher as a result. They cost £7.99 so am currently in profit. Thing is I left half of them to have the next day and warmed them up in the microwave, and the little bit of steam released made them perfect again anyway. Downside is someone at the place I ordered is probably going to get the sack based on what the "customer care" team were saying in the emails. I don't know if anyone is familiar in the Monty Python "dirty fork" restaurant sketch, kind of resembled that.

edit: Lucky I didn't tell them about the revolting fries!

Jollibee > KFC now, they're floundering, the chicken at my local KFC is drier than the Sahara. I'm not a massive fan of the gravy (to rescue it) as the process to make it is nauseating.

I genuinely can't get over them getting rid of the Zinger Tower burger, when I was young it was the best burger on the market and now it's gone

If they cook the new fries properly they aren't too bad. I just can't believe how expensive it's all become.
Restaurants are labour intensive (as is food generally) and when I worked for the Golden Arches, staff costs were circa ~20% of our takings.

Minimum wage is now over £22k/year for 37 hours. Back in 2017/18, minimum wage was £14.4K for 37 hours.

On top of that you have the mandatory work place pension, employers NI, HR and management overhead.

People complain low paid workers are low paid and no one wants to do those jobs. They then also complain their KFC is too expensive when in reality it’s low paid workers wages which are driving the costs.
