KFC - Downhill?

Didn't have KFC at all growing up, too poor. I'd have it a couple of times in my 20's, when it used to come with a Viennetta, and I was fine with it. 2014 onwards I went off on the bone big time, always dry like I was served the chicken that has sat in the heater for 2 hours so I moved over to the fillets and that was my go to for a few years. When the double became a thing I'd buy that to have on the bone and fillets. Nowadays I barely have KFC after years of meh, there's little chance I'd get good on the bone chicken and the fillets are more expensive.

As for the chips I was fine with the original fries, I was fine when they moved to the skin on chips and I'm also fine with the current seasoned fries.

The Christmas burger is coming 11 November. The stuffing stacker

I've very rarely had KFC, and other than the burgers and wraps, I always found it quite dry and a bit rough. We decided to get it for the first time in about 10 years the other day, when we couldn't be bothered to cook.

It was even more disgusting and dry than I remembered. They forgot the two pots of gravy which was part of the meal deal we ordered and in general, made me feel pretty disgusting, and I am already pretty disgusting.

My local one has been poor in all areas for so long I'm surprised it's still trading, I haven't been for around 6 years and the outside looks worse now than it did then. Wicked Zinger meal with beans was always my choice when it was worth going.

Attempted one today where the owners struggle to understand English (Not a complaint if the labour party or Essex police are reading this) and 2 out of the 3 self service machines were broken with the final straw for us being when those using the only working machine reported that it skipped from drinks to something else before selecting.

Went somewhere else and enjoyed it.

I wouldn’t dig KFC out for this too much. Very few businesses have actually signed up to this. The only supermarkets that have are M&S and Waitrose. I don’t see how it’s possible tbh, the demand for chicken in this country is insane

It's a gamble. One near me is awful but another one a bit further away is always good but there are a number of decent independent chicken shops on the way there. The motorway ones are usually OK in my experience.

KFC is just not the same anymore, there is a popeyes about double distance away from my closest KFC and I will always, ALWAYS go popeyes instead.
The chicken is fresh, juicy! The gravy is better and there is just more options.

Had the Xmas stacker and 2 piece meal deal and it actually surprised me, was fine and the chicken was moist, will have it again but realistically that could be tempting fate too much
