Killzone 2 - Enter The Killzone

The thing about the controls is that, considering CoD's popularity, all future FPS games should include a CoD equivalent controller layout

It has proven its value, so many people love it

i have no major issues with the control layout but they really should do it pc style and allow totally customisation of the controls... i mean why the hell not??? that has always confused me :/

contols feel better now did they change them ?

Apparently so, although I am sure the tweaks were only for the SP campaign.

The 1.2 patch includes the following changes:

Stability issue regarding randomly named games resolved.
Stability fix when rapidly tapping (X) can cause crash on spawn-select.
Stability issue regarding Saboteur’s disguise ability resolved.
Stability fix on ‘Creating game’ with a blank name.
Stability fix for repeatedly entering exiting game.
The Ignore list functionality corrected.
Unlock of “Frontrunner” Medal now functioning correctly.
Fix for incorrect award of win to clan not showing for game resolved.
Battle Replay for Corinth Crossing not appearing correctly on www.killzone.com.
Issue with not being able to defuse the Search and Destroy objective resolved.
HUD issue correction during Assassination mode when playing as a Medic.
Controller input tweaks and modifications.
Fix for auto-lock on of shotgun exploit.
Fix for D-Charge issues in Campaign mode.

Think i've hit the last level and WOW. It took me a while to get here but it all seems worth it. Whoever said the story was rubbish needs to be slapped, i've really enjoyed it. Its like watching an action/war film hybrid :D.

I very much like that your progress through the game is awarded with wallpapers/random cool propaganda posters to look at. 100%ing the game has apparently given me a special avatar to use on the forums... shame i have no interest in posting on there.

Just completed the game. Now sitting through the credits to see if anything appears, though knowing my luck nothing will!

Definitely going to give this another run through in a couple of days.

Completed last night.

Loved it! Once completed I wanted to go through it all again. Great game. I've started playing the MP side of it again, sticking to bodycount.

Sadly due to being obsessed with doing everything in SP i have barely touched MP. Thought that would be fine having only had the game for just over a week but it seems everyone has got quite a bit of experience. Can't believe some people are already the general rank.

General doesn't take that long compared to most MP games. I think it took me 15 hours, on R2 my total time is 4 days and 8hours and still only rank 54/60! Also once you start unlocking better classes you can get points much quicker. But since you have completed in Elite shouldnt take you long :D

Quick question for those in the know, that trophy for completing all missions without dying, does it mean completing the game without dying, or can you keep re-trying missions individually until you finish them in one piece?

Just retry the bits you died on, you don't even need to do the entire level, just the checkpoints that you died between, it says how many deaths in each section you had when you pick. I just set it to the easiest difficulty and ran through using my knife to get the 'melee all types of enemy' trophy and the knife kill trophy in one fell swoop. Worked too :)

That makes sense, otherwise it'd be a bit of a tough silver trophy!!

Street, posted this in another thread

Im totally stuck on the AA gun bit on KZ2 SP, nowt much else on elite mode hasn't been sorted out with a few trial an errors but this bit is doing my nut! I just cant get to the AA gun.

Tried it so many times now, please help my sanity!

Erm, i didn't actually struggle much with that bit so i can't give you any major hints (i'm not saying you're rubbish or anything btw, i really struggled with bits that other people had no problems with, we all play differently)

What i can tell you is, when you first start jumping down the scaffolding to go under the bridge there is a moment where you can see 5/6 helghast behind you, they are easy pickings (so easy i actually got my 4 kills with one burst of fire trophy on hard) so take them out before you carry on to the ground.

Once on the ground, hang around near the weapons rack and kill the guy in the AA gun asap, if you're quick when he's shooting at other friendlies, pop up and give him a couple of shots to the face. Once he's down it's easy, be warned though you have to be QUICK once you do get to the AA, as you only have a second to start taking down the incoming enemies before you get destroyed.

Ahhh didnt realise you could take the AA guy out whilst down on the floor :o Im sure i tried shooting him and nowt happened so i gave up on that route lol.

Will give it a go in a bit and report back.

Ok quick update: Well i did the AA gun bit first time after being a total nub! Shot the gunner down and finished that section in like 20seconds DOH :o After that the rest of the mission is pretty much plain sailing.

Salamun village was a bit of a toughie, had some pretty epic gunfights, but generally not too frustrating to get through.

Now onto the refinery level. Just arrgghh!! The bit on the train where the tank is shooting you whilst your getting flooded with a few waves of Helgast soldiers was really difficult. But alas it was again me being a nub and not utilising the rocket launcher quick enough! Thought there was only enough ammo to take out the tank but turns out it was by far the best way of clearing each wave of the enemy. Just got onto the cruiser level now, not too far to go. But am NOT looking forward to Visari's Palace on elite difficulty, that was enough ball ache on veteran :D
