Kind of feel sorry for this dude

I've kept mine as it can go to my son, I already had 2 years out of it so its cost me about £1.50 a day effectively

do you remember the “how much did your GPU really costL” thread?…

if I can get a ton for my 1070 it will have cost me 65p per week. Otherwise about £1.10

He's still covered under selling regulations to return whether he paid by cash or paypal. Presumably you marked the payment received so that said website can make their own end of the business...
Since when does distance selling regs, Consumer Credit Act, etc apply to a private sale?

Have they paid yet?
If it were me I'd happily re-adjust the price if they asked. Knowingly selling something not worth the price anymore, I'd feel like I'm ripping someone off :), even if they're silly enough to be buying around the time of a new release.

Yep they paid instantly and should receive the card today. The card was sold before knowing how the 3000 series would perform and priced, I'll sleep fine :D New 3080 with change, I'm going to hell right!?

People called me up on buying a 1080ti EOL for £599 having it a year then selling it for £500

I knew the 2080 was a dud from day one....Now people desperately trying to sell of their overpriced tat for premium prices....:p

well tbh people have to remember the extra vram and shizzle that this could make them good cards for their money 2nd hand.

3070 gtx maybe as quick but vram and other stuff may limit.

I don't mind too much to be honest.
I've got a 2080 Max P in my laptop, performs around the same as the 2080 Super Max P which only released a few months ago. As laptop Super only just came out, I think it'll be a while before any meaningful upgrade appears in laptop form, judging by the power draw and figures we've seen mentioned. Max P 2080 OC'd performs around 2070 Super/2080 level anyway, so it'll last me a year or two until there's actually a decent reason to upgrade price wise, and will move forwards then. Until then I've still got probably more or less top 10% of laptops for at least the next year I suspect.

I'd be more frustrated if I bought in the last month or two, but as I bought end of last year around Black Friday; I reckon by the time I hit my usual 2 year upgrade point, there will be some rather nice upgrades, whilst still getting a decent amount of worth out before upgrades hit :)

It all depends on the resolution that your gaming at tbh.

well no really. you will have a bigger bus on the 2080ti as well. so the experience with games regardless will be better on the 2080 ti even if the performance is the same. you have more vram and bigger bus.

Is the 3070 actually better than a 2080ti though? All I've seen is it on one of them slides they like to exaggerate profusely. It is an amazing price. isnt it cheaper than the 2070 was?

In the DF retro video the 3080 is 90 to 100 percent faster than a 2080. Not unreasonable to assume that the 3070 would match or slightly surpass a 2080ti.

But is it worth the extra money if your card is already pushing whatever fps that your are comfortable with? Epeen maybe?

There was a time when i cared about Epeen, having 2x690s at release 280s, 285s,480s, 580s, 680s, 780s, Titans etc etc

Nowadays i dont care as ive done that many times over and i only buy what i need now.

I think they could have put more vram on the 3080 tbh, could be gimped in 12-18 months especially when console ports are are ported over from PS5 and new Xbox. I have a card that is 6 years old and has more vram than that.

From what I could tell it's better with RTX on, for standard gaming we don't know, I suspect not, looking that the Borderlands 3, 3070 vs 1070, that puts it just above a 1080ti (assuming a 1080ti is double a 1070). :D
