Kind of feel sorry for this dude

Yes, I too saw it spike. A few seconds of a benchmark in one game is not enough to say that a 3080 has 100% more performance than a 2080. If you feel it is, then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree!

..and here's me feeling bad about my 2080 going from being worth about ~£400 down to ~£300 :)

2080Ti owners are rich ***** anyway, so stop whining, suck it up and be grateful that you've enjoyed higher resolutions and frame rates than the rest of us plebs for the last 2yrs.:p

I feel sorry for the panic sellers to be honest might be selling there cards way too cheaply. I mean so far the 3000's looks great compared to the 2000's launch but people need some solid fps numbers and for those who are running 4k how many have 120hz screens to make the most of the 3000 series. for those running less than 4k the 2080ti will last for years

Indeed. The 1080 Ti still does a cracking job at 1440p, it's only in the last year or so I've had to turn the odd setting down in some games to keep above 60 fps. They'll be a bargain at £200-300.

I paid £750 about 6 weeks ago. I knew the new cards were coming but my Vega died and I wanted to play FS2020. The way I see it, the depreciation is high but I'll have had the use of it for that time. Unless RT becomes significantly more important in the next couple of years I probably won't upgrade until the next round. I run at 3440 ultra wide so I'm probably good for a while anyway.

Thing is if you are keeping the card and it does what you want then its not an issue that some people think it is. The 3xxx series may be a lot faster but you can count on one hand the games such a card would need to give you an acceptable playing experience, Cyberpunk 2077, cough everything else the last gen is still fine.

Its like some people think as soon as a new card comes out everything is obsolete and suddenly wont play the game you've been playing for the last 6 months. I think of them as the toilet roll buyers of this year.

The 3xxx might be a very good card but it could also turn out to be the GTX470/480 of this century.

Also have we forgotten the the amount that died with DDR6 memory and now we got new memory again space invaders incoming, I will wait and see I got a 5 year warranty on mine so if It does die I'm not really loosing any thing wonder if EVGA would replace with a 3090 now that be something lol

People have been buying 1080 Tis on there for well over £400 for most of the year, despite being able to pick up a brand new 2070 Super for £50 more. There might be a crash in prices right now as Turing owners panic and flood the market trying to offload their cards, but I wouldn't be surprised if prices went back up after that. I'd still expect 2080 Tis to be going for well over £400 six months from now. And that's if the promise of the 3070 being slightly faster across the board is actually true.
I'm not one for predictions, though if I was this is as good as I've seen. There are too many fluid variables at the moment; if the 3070 is really as fast as a 2080Ti in most games, street price and availability etc.

Sold my 2080S £510 on Monday, £1 fees.

Hope no shenanigans ensue, buyer has a strong 100% rep. Shipped it off today. Feel ok about it it's business afterall.

Any claim it's not working they'll need to take up with EVGA not me!:p

Roll on 3080

So 13 days ago i sold my RTX 2080 Ti for £800 to a dude on a selling site with zero fees or postage.

After yesterdays show, the 3070 is better at only £469 with far superior raytracing.

Anyone else got lucky selling theirs before they're now not even worth £500?

you know that buyer can still do a PayPal dispute for many made up reasons and get his cash back. PayPal and eBay always rule in the buyers favour normally. Let’s hope he doesn’t read this thread.
