Dev discussion taken from the gizmodo article discussing use of Kinect for FPS games:
"Kinect isn't going to replace the controllers that have worked for those types of games for the last decade—that's not what we're trying to do. Kinect will work alongside those controllers for hardcore games. For throwing a grenade, for vocal commands"
Good to see that devs are thinking the right things....or atleast in line with what I personaly want.
Rainbow Six with proper SAS style hand gestures to tell your guys when to stop or move forward etc would be just the kind of thing Id want....or gears of war with a gesture that switches you to melee so you can mime (for want of a better word) using the chainsaw.
Red dead redemption with lasso gestures or Showdowns where you have to mime drawing your gun ....i could go on but sure you get the idea by now.
Im a bit on the fence with MOVE at the minute.
Do own a PS3 and im interested in it, but most the games I play I cant see how move would be integrated...not without having to use it to replace a pad, but not sure how that will work as I cant imagine playing an FPS on my WII for example.
Again ill have to wait to see how/if it gets implemented in some of the more mainstream games i.e. non party game type stuff.
Did hear on a podcast this morning that its getting put into SOCOM, but not had a look at how that supposed to work just yet.
