King Charles III / Royal Family

If he was a truly noble sovereign he would opt for the treatment the average citizen suffers with as a statement but I suppose it's too much to expect that someone essentially commits suicide to make such a sacrifice for the country.

Would you? Nonsense idea.

The BBC have gone completely overboard on this. I feel for the King and wouldn't wish cancer on anybody, but the BBC are acting like he's dead already.
They aren't the only ones. Was so OTT last night it reminded me of when the Queen died. Felt like they were all on the edge of their seats waiting for him to suddenly drop dead to be honest. Hopefully none of his family, or him, were watching.
Hopefully they've caught it in time, but considering they've not said anything it does seem concerning. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

cancer research funding has run into the 100's of millions over the years and we seemed to have got nowhere.
that just isnt true......... i dont want cancer, it is a horrible illness but to suggest that the best cancer treatment today has not progressed from 20 years ago is bonkers.

now, you may look at the numbers and say "but look X number of people still get cancer and Y number still die of it". The thing is, ultimately we all have to die eventually of something and sooner or later, if nothing else kills you, there is a good chance you will get cancer eventually.

the difference is, would you rather get cancer at 70, hopefully survive it, and live another 10 years with relatively good health ..... or just die at 70?

now not aimed at post i am quoting!.

As for the NHS..... it is on its arse at the moment thanks to being criminally underfunded and possibly poorly run but despite that i know of 3 people in the last 4 (edited because time flies!) years who had cancer and all of them were fortunate enough to get good fast treatment from the NHS. I know this isnt the case for everyone, there is somewhat of a post code lottery and that is disgraceful....... but having cancer and having to go the the NHS isnt a death sentence and i think that needs to be made clear because there is a good chance someone here may end up having to use them...... scare mongering and over egging the problem helps no one.

(but that said, if i have the option to go private of course i am gonna take it!)

Then presenters ask questions to various experts and the experts don’t know the answer. Then rephrase the question and still unsure of the answer.

This is very poor journalism.

BBC and other news outlets do this always when a massive news story comes out
