** Kingdom Come : Deliverance 2 **

You can simply pick herbs/flowers from the get go to make a few Groschen plus gain survival skills.

I'm only a few hours in but managed to sneak behind an armoured bandit accosting a women. Strangled him and whacked his mate 3 times on the head with an Axe. Full set of clothes plus a set of chain mail, plus plate bits and zero blood. Knights sword too.

Then heading back to the nearest village to sell some clothes thought I'd blagged a free horse but apparently it was a ghost rider as the reins were held up and I couldn't mount it, damn.

I know, but I was just making the general point that many high end PC gamers are graphics wh**es.

I don't think that needs pointing out, however some are waaaaaay worse than others who literally live and breathe to criticise something, rather than just enjoying the adventure. Speaking of which, I'm a good 12 hours in now, and feel like I am truly home again after the first game, what a great uplift.

I'll refer to your comment about how good this game looks, the other dude was saying it looked pants.
Out of the Box the graphics can look flat and washed out. I've had to use DLL swapper, RTX HDR, RTX Vibrance and the gamma slider to get a good image. Similar to the first game. Just keep looking straight not down at the low grade vegetation textures in place of 3D objects!

Looks fine on my 65" OLED with default settings.

I have somehow become poisoned with little health stuck in the middle of nowhere and cannot fast travel or sleep. Nothing in my inventory to heal me either. I literally load the game live for about 2 mins then drop dead…… lol..

Think I might have to reload a fair way back to fix this….

Now past the 'intro/tutorial' which was a painful slog.
Into the game proper and it's definitely what I'm here for. More of the same. Yum.

Shame that the intro just seemed so forced. Falling out with Hans. The weird AI voices on the non main characters. I ended KFC (or is it KCD) as a pretty badass fighter and money and inventory goods spilling over.

I then went back to a very sub servient peasant who unluckily lost all levels and skills.
I'd rather I started as a new character to be honest.

However, now I'm passed it and into the meat of the game so it's all good.

Has anyone noticed the ambient sounds dropping out, mostly during cutscenes, I have tried headphones and use direct stereo and disabled all audio enhancements. It's not all the time just seems random. I think this is the only issue I have noticed with the game

Some of us PC gamers think graphics are really important otherwise what's the point in spending all that money on high end hardware? It's part of the hobby and I'm certainly guilty of it.

Yep. Love my graphics. But obviously there is more to it than that for wanting PC gaming. Having all my games in one place, more than 30fps, being able to mod etc.

But gameplay and story will always come before graphics.

Have you pre ordered a MSI supreme 5090 yet?

Nope. Was never planning to either. Barely get enough gaming time and my 4070Ti works on all the games I want to play the next year or two.

I'm the same.. I bought a 4080 Super and so far the only games I've played are Delta Force, DayZ and Space Marine.
The only one I actually feel it was worth it was for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 as I completed Cyberpunk many months ago

I too am coping hard by having old tech.

In other news, just did a riveting mission on the first game where I had to walk around town, settle a few disputes and ring a bell.

Not as hard as mrk and Grim though

You can tell who is coping hard by their posts. Grim has it the worst. Constantly downplaying how much better the 5090 is.

He was dying for more than 24GB amd now it is here he is not getting it. That can't be easy

Locking picking is basically impossible using a controller! Oh my god
At the start, even "very easy" locks are difficult, by design. It gets easier as you improve the skill. But yeah you will break some lockpicks to get there. I suggest knocking down bird nests with rocks, I got about 10 lockpicks already from those.

I tried a normal lock multiple times with no luck, to the point I was wondering if I was doing it right. But felt more than likely it was because neednto level that skill up.

Happy I leveled up crossbow skill at the archery place. I beat master level to win 135 gold (or whatever it is call it). Can get around 60 points on it, max bring 75.

I think lockpicking is the skill I've seen the most change leveling up. Your hand is so shaky to start and trying over levelled locks is crazy. Get a few levels and it settles down I found, I can easily do medium locks now but hard are still a bit iffy.

I've not done many quests yet but did have a big brawl in a field that was good laugh.
