Kingdom (Netflix)

Just finished Train to Busan and it was one hell of a ride, literally! A great film for those coming off the back of Kingdom.

Apparently there is a 2018 film by the name of Rampant that is meant to be equally excellent but I'll read up about that tomorrow

Looks like a lot of fun! I like the look of those swords. Looking forward to seeing them do some damage.

Having watched kingdom the other night and finishing it, was quite surprised at how good it was. Also ended up watching train to busan, which was pretty impressive as well.

Can’t wait for season 2.

Binged this last night and this morning. Absolutely brilliant as per season 1 but less zombai action this time round - more political this time round. All in all it remained a strong show throughout with some spectacular cinematography still.

6 episodes does seem short and I can’t recall how many episodes the first season was. Got a long wait for episode 3 now :o

I recognise a lot of the palaces, it’s real ones used which I only walked myself through 2 weeks ago!

Man, I thought I was looking at a mix of CGI and made up sets in places!

Some are CGI, some are built sets but some are real. The main Palace in the centre of Seoul is massive, so much ground. There are a few dotted around the city, all similar style.

What i remember the most, randomly, was the ground, most of the area between the smaller buildings was just dirt so when it is dry there is lots of dust kicked up. In some of the scenes they were running and their feet were kicking up the same kind of dust i experienced.

Remember the scene where the Queen sat in ep6?

Woah. The first couple of photos make me realise how right you are - especially that of the throne room.

they are even using the correct padlocks, check out the lock on the door and remember the lock on the north passage way at the tunnel? It’s rectangular too.

Yep, I remember that traitor chap prying it open with his swords. Absolutely fantastic detail in the show. Already missing it though and really want answers as to who that was at the very end. Sad we have to wait so long now.
