KiNgPiN83's progress thread...

Eighth session: strong lifts B

Squat: 5x5 @ 77.5kg
OHP: 5x5 @ 42.5kg
Deadlift: 2x5 @ 115kg

Squat felt heavy but still went well, iminent failure was realised on OHP and only manged 4 reps on the last set so i'll be sticking to 42.5 in the next session to see what happens... The deadlift is definitely getting tough now...

Ninth session: strong lifts A

Squat: 5x5 @ 80kg
Bench Press: 5x5 @ 57.5kg
Barbell Row: 5x5 @ 52.5kg

Squat was pretty comfortable. Still making an effort with the form to make sure i'm still going low despite the weight increase. I didn't need any assistance on the bench press this week after my shocker last week. :D And the barbell rows were pretty much standard. All in all, a good session! :)

Tenth Session: strong lifts B

Squat: 5x5 @ 85kg (Decided to go up by 5 rather than two to catch my mate up...)
OHP: 5x5 @ 42.5kg (Stayed the same due to the epic failure last week...)
Deadlift: 2x4 @ 120kg

Almost couldnt get back up on the final squat on the final set but just about made it. I may have been a bit ambitious by upping it by 5 but i'll decide whether to go up by 2.5kg next session or stick with this for another session...

OHP. These were quite commical, i think i managed one set of 5 unassisted out of the 5 so needless to say, i'll be sticking at that weight next week...

DL: These were also shocking. Managed two sets of 4 and that was about it. So i'll stick at this for the next session on Friday and see what happens.

Over all i just felt like i had no energy and i still feel a bit knackered now. :( Hopefully i will have manned up by Wednesday. :D

Eleventh Session: strong lifts A

Squat: 5x5 @ 87.5kg
Bench: 5x5 @ 60kg
BBR: 5x5 @ 60kg

Good session. Aching already though although I don't think that's just this mornings session. Probably has something to do with the hour of circuits last night... Still, no pain, no gain... :D

Before i started running about a year and a half ago my knees were a nightmare and caused me loads of aggro but since the running and now the weight training, they are fine! I knew running and squats were good for me! :D

Literally haven't lifted any weights apart from a rather large Blade Enclosure for this whole week! However, I did a 4 mile run on Monday, I went for it during my citrcuits class on Wednesday and I did a 9.6 mile run last night. My legs feel fine too!

Hopefully i can lift some heavy metal tomorrow/Sunday...

Lifting > running unless you're in a burning building. ;)

Same here, however: I haven't done any real training in around two months because of work travel. Going back at it hard next week when I get back, mind! Might finally be able to stop the gap between our lifts closing so quickly! ;)

Oh yeah definitely! But my training buddy has been rubbish so I had to run instead...

However back in the gym tomorrow but will probably have to either stik at the same weights as before or drop them a bit. Hopefully it will be just the same... I'm a way away from you yet. Hopefully I can hit the 300kg club before Christmas though... ;-)

Train alone - win at life.

He's back!!! :D

Twelth Session: strong lifts B

Squat: 5x5 @ 90kg
OHP: 5x5 @ 42.5kg
Deadlift: 2x5 @ 125kg

Surprisingly my 10 day break didn't really make too much difference?! Well, bar the squat depth. I wasn't happy with that and will repeat 90kg on Thursday. OHP was good and I think the first time I haven't needed assistance and the deadlifts were just horrific (in a good way..) but I think we'll stick to 125 or the next session.

Looking forward to some DOMS later.

Sorry, i didn't really make it that clear... This was my third and final attempt at 42.5 before i would've had to deload and drop back to 40. Its strange because my last session at 42.5 was awful. I literally needed assistance on set 3 and 4 but this morning i was completely independant and it was fine?! Although saying that 45 on the next session should be interesting. :D

I'm really pleased with my progress so far. :) To be honest i should probably be further along but silly work and life get in the way! Lol!

That still wasnt massively clear either. Haha! Basically, if i ever need assistance from my gym buddy i don't count it as 5 completed reps. However i'd rather get them out assisted and try the same weight again next time than try and do it on my own and not get those extra assisted reps.

Makes sense! I think everyone has off days where things just don't feel right, and then those on days where you feel like a boss. As long as there's progress in there somewhere I suppose it doesn't matter!
