If on the odd occasion that I eat steak, I buy good steak and use as sharp knife. You don't need to hack at it with your "good hand". I'd much prefer to have better control over the sharp object I'm sticking in my face. For 99% of the normal right handed population.
When your cutting a steak. You cut with your good hand that has a knife.

I never said "efficient" so I'm not sure who you’re quoting. It didn't take much working out. You eat with fork, I'm right handed so I use my fork in my right hand. You cut with a knife and I've never had any problems cutting my food so it really makes very little differnce which hand the knife is in.If your coordination is so poor that you have to actually work out which hand is the most "efficient" for shoving food in your gob, then all hope is truly lost for you.
This is about etiquette and etiquette dictates Left Handed - Fork in Left / Knife in Right or Right Handed - Fork in Left / Knife in Right. There are no deviations you peasants.![]()
Right handed - knife in right hand, fork in left.
It seems that table manners are dying away, I guess it's because people don't have evening meals sat at the table as a family so much now, it's a shame really and I applaud you if you do make your family sit at the table to eat.
What do manners have to do with which hand you feel comfortable using your fork with? Really don't get why people think its such bad manners.
