Korean Grand Prix 2010, Korean International Circuit - Race 17/19

First few laps are going to be good for slip streaming, unless it does rain, then it will be just comedy :p

I think if its dry then Jenson's only chance of a top position would be by keeping his tyres in a good condition.

* Drops five places for Japan penalty

So, do we think Alonso's engine is upto this race? Should be a good race - the tires look pretty rough even after a few laps. The combination of rain and all of that dust on the track and side of the track would be interesting. I think the heaviest rain should be over by the start of the race, but I could see the start being delayed. Will definitely be getting out of bed for this one!

So, as per usual, RBRs were great in qualifying. I can't help but feel that in the race, the RBR cars may be vulnerable from Alonso.

Tomorrow's race should be interesting (not the procession which we saw at the last race). I'm hoping Hamilton manages to finish the race without incident.

Kubica has made some interesting comments about the penalty for starting on the dirty side of the grid - fears he may lose 2 places to those in 9th and 11th (would rather have started 11th on the clean side than 8th on dirty side)

Looks like Alonso is in the best position - clean side of the grid, plus a faster top speed than vettel and the tow going into the long straight.

If it rains though, the advantage would go to those starting on the 'dirty' side.

I presume you mean, those on the dirty side dont get disadvantaged, rather than getting an additional advantage (apart from the natural stagger of the grid) because of the rain....

Hopefully this race will be much more exciting, and should be plenty of stuff going on for the first few laps

hoping for one of the leading protaganists (hopefully Vettel) to be wiped out on the first lap.....by Massa?

Would prefer it to rain mid-race rather than having a wet start - are the odds still low for any rain, last I saw was rain would be arriving late Sunday/early monday?

As Jenson and Lewis seem to be off the pace slightly (even though their race pace is usually better) Im hoping Mark wins at least one of the upcoming 3 races...interesting though in that both McLaren's have to be a little more bansai than the others as they have nothing to lose now - the other three are so close they cant afford to defend too heavily (as a DNF now is more than likely to make it impossible to catch up with the other two leading challengers) ....

I wish these broadcasts binned the 4:3 aspect ratio computer bits, pee'd off with all this junk on the screen and big gaps to the left and right of it!!

Very interesting quali. The Red Bulls were almost half a second down in the 1st sector and then claw it all back by the end of the lap! That'll make the 1st lap very interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if vettel is not in 1st place by turn 4 - webber's on the slow side so alonso could be putting pressure on vettel right away.

Not looking great for the mclarens, here's hoping for rain to mix things up a bit. :)

No, if there is rain on the layed down rubber there would be less grip on the clean side than the dirty side.

Well, at least if the oils from the freshly layed track don't make it equally as bad.

Just finished watching.

Button will be praying for rain tomorrow after another typically slow qualifying performance, Ferrari looks very strong again but good prospects for a battle between Hamilton and Alonso and I'd love to see Rosberg in one of the big teams.

It's funny. For the last 3 races or so, people have been harping on about Alonso's engine situation. Yet, for whatever reason, he continues without any problem.

Vettel may yet win this year's title.

Oh Vettel has to be favourite, I'd love them to get their pants taken down and Alonso to nick it after the screw up they have made with races and team mates this year.

Vettel has it in the bag now as long as he stays reliable. They will back him as long as he's first after the stops it's game over. They can back off and save the car.

Unless it rains heavily RB should be able to cruise another race win.
