Korean Grand Prix 2011, Yeongam Circuit - Race 16/19

Besides even without a spending agreement it won't matter to mercedes because they are reportedly not all that interested in spending much more than they get back in installments from mclaren. Plenty of reports suggesting Mercedes are not all that interested in listening to Brawn and suits not all that happy with what they are already spending at the team.
for a team that doesnt want to spend much money they have been on a massive recruitment drive recently.
Dieter Zetsche is the only suit at mercedes that matters and he understands how importaint formula one is, anytime merc get a good finish hes on the phone to the drivers and haug straight after the race ;)

Hiring people that MS likes, sounds like a plan :D

Brawn won't have much more time if 2012 is not a lot better I think

its not just the people you hear about in press releases etc they have been hiring loads of behind the scenes people aswell , i think they gave up on the man power crap that started at brawnGP and decided not to race with one hand tied behind their back

With Hamilton splitting with shirtswinger it might mean he is more focused on the racing and can turn his season around in time to start the new one well.

It was always rumoured he fell out with his dad because of the relationship. They did split up before only to get back together again and then his dad was removed from his management.

When you see Lewis's interview on jonathon ross it's pretty obvious he isn't interested in settling down but with the age of the lady boy she is bound to want kids and get married. You could tell after his attitude to marriage etc in the Ross interview that would cause some backlash from her.

Hopefully by next year she will be history and his head will be in the right place.

he might even get his dad back :p

The Schumacher brothers turned up at Imola, drove to a 1-2 finish on the day their mother died, if Lewis really can't drive because of a girl then really it says it all. Seems some will just use it as an excuse, used to be his dad to blame now Nicole, next year it will be something else when things ain't going right....

i dont get how people **** ralf off he had some great drives when he was given a capable car.
should have won spa98 aswell but damon cried over the radio saying if you let us race were going to crash...

Things like this affect people in different ways - in addition, there seem to be lots of things starting to get to hamilton. Some of them are minor, but they add up.

Damon was leading the race at the time, with a relatively inexperienced person behind him (in the wet) - of course they are potentially going to crash
so no ralf shouldnt have won, if he deserved to win he would have led the race at some point...

And he would have had he been allowed to overtake. You're the one always banging on about being fastest over the course of a full gp event light to flag, well ralf would have been fastest. It doesn't matter that he wasn't leading up until that point, that proves nothing.

Ralf was much faster than Damon and deserved to have the win, except Damon was on the radio crying basically threatening the team that if they allowed ralf to attack they wouldn't finish the race.

Nothing wrong with this. As the No.1 of the team, he is allowed to make demands and get preferential treatment. E.Jordan completely agreed with Hill and then told the No2 driver to hold back.

I'm bemused that some people still don't want to come to terms with the concept of having a No.1 and No.2 system.

Hill won that race by using his status within the team and advised E.Jordan that the No.2 driver should not attempt to overtake him. This is no big deal.

In 1993, when Prost joined Williams, there were times when Hill could go faster than Prost, during the race, however, as a No.1 and No2 system was in operation, Prost could effectively dictate team strategy and tell Hill to back off.

When your employer tells you to do something, as long as its not illegal or morally incorrect, you are obliged to do as they tell you. I'm pretty sure that all of us have been asked by our employer to do something that we are not happy with...but we do it anyway. It's part of any job.

damon hill pretty much black mailed eddie over the radio... the audio file of it is fairly easy to find if you cant remember damons exact words

I'm not even arguing that point, I have no idea why that's even relevant to the point being argued, which was whether Ralf deserved the win.

Quite clearly he did.

It's not blackmail. It's called pulling rank.

"I'm team leader...I'm leading the race...tell my No.2 to back off please".

Nothing wrong with this. Its happened many many times in races and it shall happen many more times in the future.

If I had worked hard to negotiate myself into the No.1 position (and this is not easy to do), I would definitely be using this to my advantage, to maximise my points total in the WDC.

Like I said earlier, some people don't want to come to terms with the No.1/No.2 system.

if damon was out right team leader he wouldnt have to tell eddie anything..

he came across as a spoilt child born with a silver spoon in his mouth throwing his toys out of the pram because he team mate was clearly much faster and would have easily overtaken him for the lead.

We are talking about Ralph here right? Overtake, seriously? Ralf would almost 100% have taken Hill off.
