Kyle Rittenhouse - teen who shot three people in Kenosha

Let's all go dress up and be Batman. If you want to police, go join the police.

What do you do when the Police aren't stopping protesters destroying your city though? Sit at home and hope someone does something? It's such a wrong attitude to take I can't even begin to think how meek and cowardly someone would have to be to follow it. I totally agree if there was Police there stopping the violence then let them do their job, you're superfluous and only getting in the way, but in this case they weren't there doing anything.

do you know the distance between his home and the protesting ?

Too many people thinking their CoD skills translate to real life.

The worst part IMO is the fact the Police where so supportive of them, pretty much thanking them for their help and in some reports it's insinuated that the Police deliberately corralled the protesters in their direction knowing that they'd be able to do more then they where allowed..

I will leave the legality and morality of KR's actions to the US legal system, As a UK citizen the entire situation (Both Militia and Protesters) is so alien to me that none of it feels 'right'.

I will say that our US guys (we have an office in the US) often talk about getting their carry licences for their handguns and to them it's just normal to want/need to carry a handgun in some states, they can't understand why we don't.. And these aren't Trump supporters or hold extreme views (very centrist), this makes us passing judgement just a futile exercise IMO.

you're right. if the manchester bombing victims stayed at home. they'd be alive
Do you not realise the vast difference between general innocent people going about their normal daily lives and criminals going around burning down anything they can and provoking violence at every opportunity?

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of militia groups, but there are no innocents in this situation, have you seen the rap sheets for three of the people shot? Have you seen the video's of them inciting other protesters? Or the video of them raging against the Militia asking them to shoot them?

We are talking crazy people all round here..

Leeds is 20 miles from where I live, I still work there, if it was being smashed up and the Police weren't doing anything I might be inclined to go help out and stop it as it directly affects me. Kyle works as a community lifeguard in Kenosha, he's fully entitled to be there if people are smashing up local businesses at the city he works in, it directly affects him.

They really need a strong POTUS, current incumbent is weak on law and order.

You're just trolling at this point, the President doesn't have those sorts of powers, they're delegated to the Governors in those states, the Democrats seem happy to let their states burn if it means they can call Trump weak like you just did to hopefully get them some votes. Does ANYONE think Biden is a strong candidate? He isn't even on this planet anymore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3DyjWEs2JU

If only that wasn't satirical..

Indeed, I was just chatting with a US Citizen this morning and asked that very question to which they educated me on how the state governance works..

I was being sarcastic. It was for someone else

We all know being a vigilante is wrong.
We all know he should not have a gun.
We all know he should be at home.
We all know those are not his guns.
We all know he shot people.
We all know he is not law enforcement.

But....it's okay....we can forgive all that because Batman is real life now. Or the Punisher, if you want to be closer to a comic book character. I highlighted the word comic book to reinforce that it is comic book...not real life, this is real life. Distinction people.

Right?

Apologies.. classic Poe's law on that one!

That's the US (well a lot of states) in a nutshell.. The right to bear arms, defend your property or yourself with said arms, etc, etc is baked in to the very fabric of their society and law.

You don't have to wonder why all those vigilante caricatures predominantly all originate from the US..

Clearly stronger than the current failure yes. Anyone who isn't a partisan nutcase can see that plainly. The riots and misbehaviour are all down to poor government and a poor POTUS who has regularly inflamed it all.

Amusingly you can play almost any Trump speech in the past few years and its an incoherent mess. Need to try harder to backup your brainwashed tosh.

Let's hope none of us are put in a position where our cities are being destroyed and we have to make a decision whether to go out and be a vigilante or sit at home and hope the trouble doesn't come our way. I think a lot of people on here would sit at home, some people wouldn't. That's basically the two camps in this thread.

It feels to me like the riots are down to the media stoking tensions for clicks and views and the Democrats are happy to let it happen as it potentially benefits them during an election year. Trump speaks how he always has, Biden probably gets lost going to the shops.

Things should never get to that point though, and if things get out of hand the army and reserves should be deployed. Anyone with 5 mins more training than some kid with a semi auto he's too young for.

It doesn't explain people here in this country defending him.
