First off, scepticism+++++. The Sky News article is a virtual C+P from the Sun...
Both News International sources - Expect a slightly more highbrow treatment in The Times.

There's an article in the Torygraph too.

It's reminiscent of General Tacitus - Make your troops believe they are going to be walking 100 miles, and they will thank you when they only walk 50.

Look folks, its not difficult, decorate your home with offensive items before the inspector comes; violent pornograpy, S+M paraphernalia, Nazi memorabilia, banners proclaiming support for the KKK, an A2 print of no, just no, OK, etc, satan would buy a pair of ice skates would before the pics made their way onto a goverment website
;) :p :D

I love the way the UK works

so your telling me, if I work harder, I will be taxed MORE and if I don't work at all I'll get MORE money in benifits (and a nice councle house too prolly) than I can earn atm?

nice

This Government (and in particular prescott) disgust me.

I can't add anything else to that. :(

Unless some geezer turns up with a warrant, there will be no photos of my bedroom unless I take them. I used to feel sorry for this government about how they flail around not knowing what they are doing in a typical misguided socialist way, now they are starting to scare me.

The sad thing is, this lot would prosecute you under some sort of politcally correct dogma. :p

Taxed just because my house looks really nice?

They BETTER not bring this rubbish scheme in

I fear a nice house tax riot.

Thats bever going to happen there would be absolute uproar if they even attempted it, i have never felt that stronlgy before that i would join a protest but this would definitely push me over the edge and im sure most of the rest of the coutry. How much more money do the government need/want out of us for gods sake, its going to get to the point where my wages dont go into my bank they just go straight to the treasury.

They wonder why this country had trillions of pounds of debt, its quite a basic premise, we simply have to, as we dont have any of our own money left to buy anything s it all goes to the government so we have to borrow to afford basic items.

Do read the link posted by Borris from the Telegraph, the socialist ideal is that we all have the same (apart from those in power of course). This is right up the streets of those socialists who think wealth is a dirty word and only fit for the "ruling elite" and certainly not for the likes of you or I.

Social change is the agenda, the method is lots of little steps. By these frequent "leaks" you're outraged at the end proposal but therefore more likely to allow something inbetween. I'll bet you'll allow photos if they don't publish them on the web.

Now what if the proposal was just to photograph - we'd be in uproar. We wouldn't allow it. But if they appear to "back down" over the web bit then they get the photos. A lot of social change has been engineered by these freaks in the last decade. The tactics are the same every time.

I really dont understand what you are all complaining about. I bet most of you lot voted labour at the last election. What did you expect.

Increased tax, increased national spending, welfare etc, increased government intervention. Forget the spin or how charismatic the leader is, thats labour policy.

If you dont like it, say so when you get your next chance to vote.

I have never voted labour. I doubt many that have posted in this thread do or did, some might not have even voted yet.
Voting Lib Dem would be even worse though.
Mind you the extent to which Labour seem to want to go suprises even me, I doubt Stalin had the visions that Blair does.

this should be interesting
"allowing your neighbour to see your house"

and following that everyone else who decides they need a new tv, speakers, pc etc... great idea... idiots.. absolute idiots !!

Mr Prescott wants home owners who have made improvements to their houses to pay more council tax.

What a ******* joke, so you work hard and make your house a nice pleasant place to live and you get taxed on;

-purchasing the items
-petrol to take them home
-council tax on your house
-extra because your house is decorated nicely
-not to mention wages savings etc

Again what a ******* joke.

Agreed.
