Labour party wants to put pictures of yourhouse on the web

I can't add anything else to that. :(

Unless some geezer turns up with a warrant, there will be no photos of my bedroom unless I take them. I used to feel sorry for this government about how they flail around not knowing what they are doing in a typical misguided socialist way, now they are starting to scare me.
Some Labour twonk shows up on my doorstep, he won't need a warrant. He'll need an armed guard. Or his warrant will get inserted, staples first, where the sun don't shine.

They are NOT putting photos of my bedroom (etc) on a webite. Period.

I have never voted labour. I doubt many that have posted in this thread do or did, some might not have even voted yet.
Voting Lib Dem would be even worse though.
Mind you the extent to which Labour seem to want to go suprises even me, I doubt Stalin had the visions that Blair does.
I just had a thought. Stalin died on March 5, 1953. Blair was born on 6 May 1953.

There is only 2 months between the two dates. Baby blair may of become conscious at 7 months after conception at the moment of Stalins death.

You never know.......

I really dont understand what you are all complaining about. I bet most of you lot voted labour at the last election. What did you expect.

Increased tax, increased national spending, welfare etc, increased government intervention. Forget the spin or how charismatic the leader is, thats labour policy.

If you dont like it, say so when you get your next chance to vote.

Not having the vote, I still pay tax yet can not reap the benefits of staying at home sitting on my arse because of my age

Its silly, I would not let one picture of my room be taken, at all.

I never voted Labour into power, I never agreed to let them govern the country either as I am not a registered voter. I therefore should not have to abide by there policies until I am in a position to vote, against them.

Labour do some great things, yes they do, but to me some of the invasions of privacy really do get on my nerves.

If you are poor with no sense of drive, you are reasonably well off on benefits.

If you are from a household with a below average income who try hard, you can not get anywhere as soon as you earn that little bit more, you get taxed on it to high heaven meaning you actually have less money to spend!

My parents are in the situation where if they both stopped working we would be better off, but they dont and continue to work as its the right thing to do.

Just annoys me

I have never and nor will I ever vote Labour. Their whole political philosophy is flawed, they are proven incompetents, unpatriotic, self serving and liars.

Those that did vote for them should hang their heads in shame.

Sequoia and his beautiful turn of phrase sums it up again. :D

Will the last person to leave the country please turn off the lights?

Well, that wont be me… I can’t wait to leave this ****hole. I’ll make comments on this, but I’m getting tired of reading –

Tax on this, tax on that. Gas going up, we are using too much water, even thought the pipes are leaking, electric is going up, we want more, we will get more.

Tax on your car, tax on your earnings, tax on your petrol….. TBH, I’m sick of it, and I’m sick of this country TBH. Have been for a long time.

Ah, now, where are those immigration papers again.. :p

I know they want more council taxes, they are going to get it from you, anyway they can. They'll not be happy until the get ALL your money, leaving just enough to buy food...If you are lucky...

Would you like to run for election? You'll get my vote. :)

Or at least, are growing increasing reluctant to admit they did :D
I'll admit it. I did once, purely because I couldn't stomach the key policies of the other two. Didn't make any difference to the outcome though so I can at least feel slightly better about myself. Won't happen again Officer. :)

Some reason, these quotes from the firefly series comes to mind :-

"A government is a body of people usualy notably ungoverned"
and
"That's what governments are for, Get in a man's way."

Just trying to lighten the mod in this thread ;)

I voted for them in 97 and 01, to my eternal shame. Well I woke up eventually and didn't vote in the last election at all - under our electoral system it's a waste of time except in certain seats, of which mine isn't one.

I infer from Bug One's post that he doesn't realise that Labour won their majority with only little over a third of the votes.

I've said it before - Sequoia is Hank Scorpio.

Where do "improvements to your home" end?

Extra tax for using paint from Laura Ashley as opposed to B&Q?

A further 10.5%, because you have a 50" plasma screen?

Am I expected to tidy up before the photos are taken?

So if I daub my walls with mud, and dress my children in old potato sacks the day they come round, can I have a reduction in my council tax ?

Also - if they want to make more money from Council Tax, why don't they just increase the number of bands...

council tax bands

How come they stop at £320,000 and up. Shouldnt people in £3 million houses pay a "little" bit more than people in £320,000 - and leave the rest of us alone...

I paid 38,000 for my house 8 years ago (band A), its now in band E/F. It doesnt seem right somehow.

And that is the biggest disgrace of all, such a HUGE majority of seats with such a tiny voter majority.
You might recall some thought that this sort of debacle with seats per vote was the norm but I posted the figures back to about 1950 and it had never even come close to this outrage before.

Labour are a disease to British values and human rights.

If you're not an immigrant, and you vote Labour, you should be ashamed. I completely agree with the "last person turn the lights off" comment. If Labour had their way, I'm sure all "rich" people would be shot on sight. You know they're planning an eBay Tax too!

Your band won't have changed, unless you live in Wales. Your council tax band is determined by the market value of the property at 1st April, 1991, NOT current market value. As Wales was revalued, the relevant date there is 1 April 2003. So, unless you live in Wales, your band can't have changed since you bought the place 8 years ago.

What a ******* joke, so you work hard and make your house a nice pleasant place to live and you get taxed on;

-purchasing the items
-petrol to take them home
-council tax on your house
-extra because your house is decorated nicely
-not to mention wages savings etc

Again what a ******* joke.

Dont forget the extra slice if you pass it on to your kids - who can then continue the jolly cycle.
