I love the way the UK works

so your telling me, if I work harder, I will be taxed MORE and if I don't work at all I'll get MORE money in benifits (and a nice councle house too prolly) than I can earn atm?

nice

lol certainly feels that way, its all about the ££££. You should see the way the funds from governments are spat out, its hilarious. Two examples: A college got £13million and guess what they done? Expanded the cafeteria entrance lol!! Another one got £12million, guess what they done? Built a building valued around £700k. Almost 3 years have passed now, wheres the money!?!?
This is just 2 examples. Government messes up, it falls on us. Yet another way to scam money from us, we dont stand up against it which means no civil war (:( ...jk) so it will happen until we're fresh out of money. Debts already increasing in the UK, soon we will pretty much be working to pay taxes and trying to eat lol

I fear this country is so entrenched with people who benefit from Labour's policies that there is no recourse. The perception of the public is going to have to change before the next election. There's been too much focus on war and terrorism that domestic policies have flown under the radar. I don't intend to leave the country but the need for a get out plan is certainly increasing.

Will Labour even get another term in office? I'm no expert in politics and tend to stay out of it, but surely Labour is coming to the end of its journey.

They said this at the end of the last Conservative government - and here comes a new exciting Con leader. And thus the magical cycle continues :)

Because of the way that our electoral system works and the disgustingly large majority of seats (but not votes) I can see Labour winning again.

I am fairly certain that they are importing and breeding their own electorate with the single mum and immigration policies that they have brought in.
I think it is the plan, encourage the idle to breed, price the worker out of being able to afford kids and eventually comrade we will have rebuilt the soviet union on this soil.

If my country is going to be continuously sold out to immigrants then it ceases to be my country and whether I leave or not I won't be in "my" country. It wasn't the average Briton who made the UK "Great Briton" it was a number of pioneers who in todays Britain would have been taxed to death and hamstrung by legislation.
Everything that attracts people to the UK will disappear with the people who want to leave. I'm looking quite seriously at canada, I have relatives there and they want engineers.
you are my clone!!!

I hope the Canadians are more welcoming for your sake then!

Canada is actively trying to recruit people to move there.
They have a HUGE country and a tiny population.
They have a points system based on ability to speak the language, skills, education, marital status etc.
I score highly.

Now contrast that with the great tide of unskilled people heading to the UK who can't even speak the language and who expect to live like parasites on our taxes. Just a SLIGHT difference don't you think?

Besides if they'll take Spawn they'll take anyone ;)

Wasn't there some big thing a few years ago about Labour changing the voting boarders so that more labour voters now reside in other districts that were not previously Labour.

if you get me.

There was a little bit of that. But the biggest stinker was...

Guess who's heartlands were the same regions that trialled postal voting :)?

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Unfortunatley I don't think Mr Gandhi is on the right track this time.

I am sick to death of the Labour Government and their American allies in the war against "terror". I have to put my hand up and say I voted for them the time before last and last time I voted Tory, but if you look at it one is as bad as the other. With constant pressure from G W Bush to become "friends of America" we have to swallow whatever Dogma they sell us.

I used to be proud of this country, it ahd awonderful NHS and the great free edcuation. Now all we get is MRSA from the badly managed hospitals whose overpaid managers (no place in a hospital) make underpaid immigrants clean the wards. Then their are the schools - no discipline and a Higher Education system than instead of educating the new bread of scientists and mathamatcians are churning out "media studies" and other such waste of space degrees.

So? What do we do? For those people who say go to another country, where do you go? With the UK, America and her Allies forcing their will upon the free world there will soon not be a free world left. Remember that Iran cannot have Nuclear Power[tm] because we - the West - don't like their skin colour, yet we funded Israel so they could build a nice weapons plant. Pah it makes me sick.

As has already been said by more elloquent people (who can spell better than me) people are in outrage now but just like ID cards, the school reform, smoking ban et all they will tone it down the sheep like public will go "Hey Tony Blair is sticking up for my rights - it's OK now" and let the law through whilst they just tag the bits back on the bill.

Some of you, like me, are Fred Dibnah fans. He always goes on about Great Brittain and the Victorian times. I am sure those Victorians are truning in their graves if they knew what this country has become.

Here is the solution - Direct Action. Revolution.

No real social change has ever been brought about without a revolution... Revolution is but thought carried into action."

- Emma Goldman

"All oppressed people are authorized, wherever they can, to rise and break their fetters."

- Henry Clay

I have said my piece... ;)

mrhhh, while I see the point your making, I still have a suspicion that the vast majority of the Victorian British population would not agree with you. Mainly due to the small issue of the fact that a majority of this country lived in what we would call today poverty. We may have a rosey view of the Victorian era, but for most it was rather pish.
