Aerocool that bad? If so i will steer clear :)

Could be the Chieftec then, its the cheapest for what i need and doesnt need to be a supermodel as i wont be looking at it much!

Need to see if i can find somewhere that sells em now...

Thanks for all your help people, which i could stretch to a Stacker tho, they do look nice!!

Scott

I have the BA-01B-B-SL, the only thing bothering me about it is that since the 8x3.5 internal bays are sideways, it is kind of hard to close the door with a few disks there because of IDE and molex power cables. It could be OK with SATA cables but I didnt have any SATA disk in there so I cant be sure.

and using a IDE controller in a PCI slot you will need a 90cm IDE cable to reach the 8x3.5 disks with both master/slave connected. I dont think 90cm will reach both master/slave connectors from the PCI slots to the 5 1/4 trays. 100cm SATA cables will solve that problem.

Thanks for the heads up on the cable length, u were right i need longer Sata cables :(

Luckily my main drive is IDE and i have a 90cm IDE so i can at least get it up and running. It just arrived so ive transferred it all across, and apart from the 2 Sata drives i need longer cables, its all working perfectly!!

I do however have a question, i think for Yewen... The internal layout is slightly different than my Other Scorpio, in *** fact there are 4 HDD cage mounted in the top part, and where they used to be is just empty space...

Now, from memory i had 2 removeable HDD cages, that could hold 3 HDDs each, with a fan in front that were mounted on the front, behind the power button... It looks like there is still room and holes to put these in. This would be Ideal if i needed more HDD space...

Do you know where i can buy these cages from?

The scorpio full tower I have is of the style you said.

You will need to remember that cages for the Xaser III series by thermaltake are also compatable. As are some Antecs.

Anychance of a pic of the internals? :)

Wow, cost cutting!

The drive bays wont fit, as in your picture the middle divider was not there :(

In moments like this, its time to scream.

Huh, im lost?

In the last pic, right hand side is where they used to be.. Those Purple fan holder things pop right out, so i presumed i could fit some there?

That divider is exactly as i remembered, but all the HDDs would be under that...

Not sure i follow what ya mean? :(

Normally there are these shelves you can put the cages into, that then lock into the shelf above using a lever (you can still see the hole at the bottom of the CDrom tower) But the hdd cage holders are missing.

Ahhh yeah, i remember now!! Got ya, they were there on the old case i had....

Hrmm, i need to find a welder me thinks :)

Edit: Or i could just find a cage from somewhere, and stick it at the bottom, the case isnt going to move so resting on some rubber would be cool....

Nice one Yewen!

I was going to try and get a Sheet Metal worker to copy me the cage i had for the Lian Li PC37, this would be perfect :)

Now to find a seller....

Edit: Found one, well known electronics store that has just opened around the corner from me! Nice one :) Cheers Yewen

BEAST :D

Just got to love the old Chieffy cases, although I must say the older design takes my fancy more with its hard drive cages in the bottom.

Hrmm... I kinda like it, but id rather have Both. Them up the top is ace, cos im my old case all up there was just wasted space. So putting them up there for me is good.

Would like the option of having them down the bottom as well, like you say. Just sell the cages seperatly would be fine with me :)
