Las Vegas Food Ideas

Can get a 24hr unlimited pass to go to any of the Caesar owned casinos buffets for like 50bucks. Includes Paris, planet Hollywood, harrahs. Good value and the buffets are decent enough.

queues can be big and you have to pay a surcharge for the really good ones

Roy's, a short taxi ride from the Platinum (East from Flamingo/Ballys) was excellent when we went a few years ago. The best service I've ever experienced from a restaurant and the food was to die for.

You have to do in n out burger, luscious is the word! Had far too many in and around LA!

Todai is a fairly good value for money all-you-can-eat sushi & oriental restaurant. Its located in the Planet Hollywood Casino building.

The Outback which is just opposite The Mirage is pretty good .. also conveniently has a McDonalds, Chipotle burrito & Denny's next to it.

If you do manage to get out of the main strip go visit The Las Vegas Gun Club where you can shoot machine guns legally under supervision in a firing range.

If you're into punk/rock music there's a bar called The Double Down Saloon near the Las Vegas University. They may have live bands playing there during the nights you stay and its about 5-10 minutes walk from The Hard Rock Casino. Its far from a high class bar, more like an atmospheric dive bar.

If you are going to do Todai get a voucher from restaurant.com (and also a discount code for the voucher form anywjere on web) this will make it virtually 2 for 1, be aware that you need to be in for about 830-9 at latest as it doesnt stay open late

while I can certainly recommned the Double Down that is a pretty awful list of eating establishments considering what Vegas has to offer :p

Man, I want to go back so bad :(

You gonna go to the rifle range while you are there?

As far as food goes, I recommend visiting Downtown (Fremont Street) and there is a steak house called Hugo's Celler in the Four Queens casino, very nice.

Hiugos isn't a steak house as such more old school general dining, IMO it is overpriced and there is loads better but each to their own :)

I had a fantastic New York strip steak with a bleu cheese salad in the Harley Davidson cafe in Vegas and can heartily recommend the "Sloppy-Joe" in the Venetian! :D

On another note, please go to Fremont Street! Not much food wise but a great night out.

We left it until the last night and regretted it, it was amazing.

we really like downtown and usually spend 3 nights down there on each trip :)

We made sure to visit when we went, but I would have loved to spend more time there (next time!)

Short taxi journey, but a great experience, I loved being able to just walk between casinos so freely without having to worry about traffic. Cheap gambling as well.

Some good ideas in here, thanks!

Any bar recommendations? Preferably one that does really good cocktails :)

Depends what you want from the bar. Laid back and chilled then Chandelier Bar at Cosmo is great, i also love parasol down at Wynn. However, neither are really stag friendly unless you are fancying a quiet moment.

If you are after Loud and raucous then somewhere a bit of a dive like Margeritaville, PBR, Blondies or Rockhouse. Diablos is next to your hotel too which is another dive bar.

Drinks are pricey in the strip located bars, I would try and make the trip up to Fremont, it's a lot of fun there for less dollar.

We're not going to be 'on it' all the time because we're there for a week so a good mix really, some of us will be happier going to nicer places some nights and others another night.

Oh, and from everything I've read, dress codes are fairly relaxed around the place, does this include nice bars?
