Las Vegas Food Ideas

Dress codes for clubs is pretty tight but bars within hotels/casinos its pretty much wear what you feel comfy in the place. Normal evening attire for me on strip is smart jeans, shirt, shoes so that way I can go pretty much wherever and not feel over/under dressed. I would feel a plonker wearing t shirt and shorts in Wynn at night but nobody will stop you!

Daytime, 3/4 length shorts and a polo or a short sleeve shirt works. You see some right scruffs wandering around in shorts and wife beaters in the hotels but not the clubs.

I would deffo check out parasol down at Wynn then for a chilled evening of drinks by the lake and Chandelier in Cosmo for some lush cocktails. Peppermill lounge is also a must do for old vegas style.

Mix lounge at Mandalay Bay is great for a sunset view of strip and another very chilled place was the bar in the Mandarin Oriental. We stayed there for a few hours listening to the live jazz and just drinking/chilling.

It's weird as in the casinos although there are kind of defined 'bar' areas, the whole place is a bar! I like Mandalay Bay as a complex as there are lots of bars and even just house bands on playing while you are sat at the bar. Gives it a party atmosphere.

Fremont on a weekend has a great atmosphere and I would definitely recommend you try and fit a night out in down there if you can. No need to wear anything smart there though!

As long as they don't try and swim in the lake I'm sure it will be fine :D

Another one to try, if there are sports on, would be Legasse's stadium. Wynn country club or Tableau for a very civilised brunch as well.

Also, it's worth going up to the top of the stratosphere for the view and rides but then get the hell out of there! Dodgy, dump doesn't even begin to describe it....

We are trying to sort out our accommodation for the last three nights, at the moment have the Staybridge suites booked thu-fri-sat. Really want to go back to Encore but prices are close to 500 for three nights which is bonkers. Palms place winning at the minute with 180 for three nights. Location doesn't matter as my other half doesn't really drink so is happy to drive :) any suggestions?

I can't see the table layout working for 12 folks though, it's not a big place and all individual tables, don't think I have ever been there when there were 12 free spaces

True, it's normally packed. We waited a short while indoors for a table for four of us outside and bagged a couch type thing. They would be split up in to groups no doubt. But if some of the group wanted a chilled one it's one of the best places in Vegas for that.

Trust me it'll only be a smaller group of us considering there! I'm planning on getting lost one or two nights as well.

Oh, on the final night we're doing our dress up in a dinner suit (yeah i know..) meal, so we should be going to some fancy places then - any ideas what might be appropriate for drinks after the meal? Savile Row looks pretty cool at Luxor? Or just stick with some of the casino bars I guess?

Luxor needs nuking from orbit, it's a dive and very dated in comparison to the new places. I would consider mix lounge just for the view, Mandarin Oriental jazz bar or cosmo chandelier bar. Cosmo will be bouncing on a Friday night whereas mandarin will be more quiet.

That said, dinner suits night out has to end at Bellagio for the true Oceans 11 experience.

Like I say, a lot of the casinos and bars all blend in to one. There are a few dedicated bars but they are all themed like Harley Davidson or Margertaville etc. In a dinner suit I would stick to the classier properties but you will suss it out quickly when there.

Cool cheers :)

Just realised In-N-Out burger is 2mins from the hotel. Just to note, I currently weigh 69kg and in pretty good shape. I don't think I'll be in the same boat in 2 weeks time..

Well so far not been able to make in n out as it seems impossible without getting a cab!

Looks like there's only two of us doing steak tonight so might do dress up smart and do SW at the Wynn and get cocktails at the lake afterwards :) bit cold today though!

Check out the bone in ribeye at society cafe in Encore instead of SW, it's cheaper and epic!!. Spend the savings on booze by the lake :D

Other option would be Cut/Carnevino, only a 5 minute walk over the bridge to Wynn from Palazzo for a beer or ten after. Pricey in those two places though but Cut serves up authentic Wagyu/Kobe....

SW is good but Prime is probably as good as it gets

We are thinking of Prime for our anniversary meal. We had our reception at Encore though so kind of leaning towards Cafe Society again....

What made it good? Im not a big fan of fussy service, Cut was just over the top; I am quite capable of putting my own potatoes on my plate!

Prime has lakeside seating and the food is just perfect and served in more of a formal setting but still in a steakhouse style

Having said that there has to be something said for going back to where you had your reception :)
